Creature Corner reports that New Line is already hard at work on developing potential sequel ideas to their current team-up project and there's already a theory - "Reliable sources have revealed that one of the current ideas being tossed around includes a scenario where Freddy and Jason would team-up against a common enemy: Bruce Campbell as Ash from the "Evil Dead" films. As crazy as it might sound, this concept has apparently been met with a great deal of enthusiasm in the upper-echelons of New Line Cinema. While it's impossible to predict what sort of "unknowns" might prevent this concept from seeing the light of day (like, say, the rights holders of the "Evil Dead" series or Campbell himself saying no) it's interesting to know that New Line is at least considering what could turn out to be many a fanboy's dream team-up "plus one" for the not-to-distant future".
Now, tell me.......wouldn't this be a kick ass triple threat match or what??
I just don't know about Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees teaming up.
I could see an every-man-for-himself type of deal involving all three of these horror icons.
But it just seems to me that most of our current anti-heroes are all better when they work alone.
But this post is an example of why Freddy vs Jason is so great.
Even if this individual movie is subpar, it opens up an entire new world where horror icons will be pitted against one another in a battle to see who really is the biggest horror icon of all time.
Ok Freddy vs Jason vs Ash is a cool idea, but I always thought the coolest freddy vs Jason movie idea would include Pinhead and have Freedy and Jason fighting in Pinhead's arena....even if pinhead wasn't revealed until the very end and teh explaination for Freddy and Jason's ensuing fight is that this is their hell...i mean, hell, the past 3 hellraiser movies used that exact same idea, someones dead and thats there hell...
On second thought, adding Ash into a jason or freddy movie might make it too cheesy, thats okay, but i'd really like to see a jason movie thats serious (unlike jason takes manhattan, jason goes to hell, and jason x)...now Wes Cravens New Nightmare was a damn good movie, it actually cast people who could act and had a coherent script and elements reminiscent of drama genre movies...serious horror movies are what i want...but of course, ya gotta have the funny crap like house of 1000 as well...maybe it was just me who found that movie to be a comedy and not a horror movie...
You know, if I actually had motivation to do anything in life I might just write a Freddy vs Jason vs Pinhead screenplay. I'm sure it would be a legal nightmare if they tried to produce such a movie anyways. From what I read one of the main reasons we waited 10+ years to get Freddy vs Jason was legal issues involving the production companies, etc. blah blah blah...I mean, Freddy vs Jason was a fun movie to watch and all but I fail to see what was soooo great about it that it took 'em over ten years to get THAT script...Who tells main plot points by having a voice-over for the first few minutes of a movie...Techincally, it's a screenplay no-no, a cheap way of getting the plot out there...but I'm not *****in, just pointing it out...
Okay, I read recently that there will be a sequel, but the whole idea of bringing Ash in is gone. Nor will there be Michael Myers, Pinhead, or anyone else. Just the two of them.
Which is probably for the best.

Damn. I kinda woulda liked to see Ash in this one. But, the sequel IS to a duel movie, so it makes sense to just keep it down to the both of them. Plus, adding a third cult hero might make the movie too long, which would mean an editting nightmare in order to bring it down to a respectable horror movie length.
