Surely one is not arguing the fact that he acted without wisdom. His actions indeed open the gate to this entire situation. I agree you reap what you sow. But it's easy not to have compassion for someone when going through a trial.

I thought that in this country you are presumed innocent until proven guilty?
If you are talking about absolutes, then how would you know anything is true without you personally witnessing it? How do you know Russia is there? How do you know Iraq was invaded?
Obviously NOTHING is an absolute, but given the circumstances you have to take the evidence into account, not just the accusations. What I can't understand is why would Kobe risk his career, reputation, and freedom to rape this girl?
I haven't heard anything to date that Kobe acted sexually abusive in the past. In the absence of evidence you have to presume innocence. So now you're down to her word against his.
Look at her evidence. She said Kobe grabbed her by her neck, bent her over a chair, and took her forcefully. She has a slight bruising on her cheek, and they've taken samples from her body that shows indeed Kobe did leave seaman there. They've also have pictures of her private parts that looks to be irritated.
Kobe says the encounter was consensual. She came up to his room several times, even after work after he asked her to. They both agree they started kissing consensually. This is where the story differs.
Now at this point, it would not be looking good for Kobe except for 2 things. First, this young woman tried to commit suicide a month or two prior to this. This to me shows she isn't stable minded. Next and the most damaging is that this young woman told the police that she had sex prior to her and Kobe, and that she used a condom. When they took samples from her person, they found 3 sets of pubic hairs, two caucasian one black. Not only that, they found two different seaman samples in her body, one being Kobe's and the other clearly someone elses.
Given this evidence which I think is the most damaging to date, how can you say that there isn't reason to doubt in her story? Sex with 3 different men in a close proximity of time? Remember she went to the hospital the day after her and Kobe had their encounter.
So explain to me if you would, how is it that you have no opinion one way or the other that someone is lying?
