WOW ! Latent Haiku right there in the script -- !! No wonder some of those lines are so memorable - the meter is perfect...
Anymore, anyone ? I think these are so great - good on you, everyone for submitting - I remember High School English class and everyone would groan when these came up, and we could barely string one together between us...
Hej - what does your signature mean ? (I'm thinking it's Tibetan Buddhist?)
spjk2k, good job of pulling those right out of the script!
i agree with you writinggirl. all of these are great. i think its wonderful how each poster's personality can be seen in these, giving all the poems a distinctive style.
here's another 12 lines:
hard, silver metal.
similar to the machines.
its only a spoon.
there is no spoon. but,
i can see myself in it.
a free mind will bend.
ignorance is bliss.
bloody steak for sacrifice.
need a miracle.
starting to believe.

Aum Mani Padme Hum: One of dozens of mantrams or mantras used by Buddhists (christian mystics often repeat a verse of scripture upon which they wish to meditate) to help focus the mind and clear all thought, like polishing the mirror. It means many many things in Pali, but has been literally translated as "the jewel in the lotus" as a metaphor for the inherent buddha-nature in each of us (there, yet not there). Would you like to learn more? Don't click, just breathe.
Look inside yourself,
the jewel in the lotus
lies just in your grasp.
whidden, you have not failed at haiku. there is no 'pass', there is no 'fail', there is only the truth.
i like the way you wove them together with a rhyming scheme, and that you kept the focus of each one (with the exception of the last one) a character in the movies.
well done.
