Wizarding Schools post #1  quote:

Wizarding Schools

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
location: Scotland, UK
uniform: black robes, black pointed hat

Durmstrang Institute
headmaster: Igor Karkaroff
location: a castle in northern Europe, so far north that the days are very short in winter
uniforms: furs, blood-red robes
notes: The Durmstrang Castle is not as big as Hogwarts, having only four floors. Its fires are only lit for magical purposes. The grounds are quite extensive and include lakes and mountains. Durmstrang has the reputation of teaching Dark Arts. It does not admit Muggle-born students.

Beauxbatons Academy of Magic
headmistress: Olympe Maxime
location: France
uniforms: robes of fine silk, attendants of the carriage wear pale blue
coat of arms: two crossed, golden wands, each emitting three stars

other schools:

a school in Brazil from which Bill Weasley had a penfriend
The Salem Witches' Institute, U.S.A.
students in the US have their own school
additional notes and references:
there are no Wizarding universities
Wizarding young people do not need to attend Muggle schools

I wish that they would make it clear as to WHAT the young kids do up till the age of 11, for education. Is it the parent's that are teaching them to read and write? Math? History? Etc...

I would also like to know all of the other schools around the world, and what they are called, where they are located.

What if a wizard graduates from Hogwarts, or another wizarding school, and goes to work with a job that they focused their main attention to while in school, but then they just want a change in career? Do they just learn "on the job magical training," or is there some sort of school that they can go to to learn a new career or trade?

I think Hogwarts probably includes some basic RRR education, but we never see or hear about it. Kind of like bathrooms on spaceships... they're there, but we don't see them...

Good thought - and we do know that Hogwarts has bathrooms, thanks to the troll and Hermione in the bathroom in SS, and Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom in CoS. No mysteries there.
