Rods Busted
As it turns out there is a logical explanation for Rods. As anyone who has looked into this knows, Rods only appear in video tape. Not in snap shots of any kind.
The TV Show "Proof Positive" on SciFi researched the Rod phenomena by consulting an FBI video analyst. Using high tech video equipment he was able to explain and show just what causes Rods and why people don't see the Rods flying around them even when right in front of their face when the camera sees them. This phenomena happens because the object which in almost all cases is a bug, is flying past the lens and is actually caught in sub frames making it appear like it is much longer than it actually is. When the FBI analyst showed a single frame, you could see the object, in this case a bug, as it actually was. As he added other frames the bug turned into the Rod. I suspect the image in Iraq was also a bug as well. Other times it could be a bird or in one case they showed a bright object in the sky possilby a star, moon, sun or another aircraft as the cameraman panned the camera while filming an airplane.
