Children as young as 11 years old are now targets of military recruiters.
The U.S. is violating laws that is supposed to keep CHILDREN from being preyed on by military recruiters.
The report, "Soldiers of Misfortune: Abusive U.S. Military Recruitment and Failure to Protect Child Soldiers," found U.S. recruiting practices violate international law because of recruitment of children.
The report notes that recruiters disproportionately target poor and "minority" students and use public schools as prime recruiting grounds.
Are Blacks and Hispanics the primary recruiting targets? Defense Department records studies revealed most recruits are from lower income (poor) backgrounds and only 8 percent have a parent who is professional.
A CBS News investigation reported women interested in military were sexually assaulted by recruiters, raped on recruiting office couches, assaulted in government cars ... Many were 17 year old children.
" Its no mystery the military target urban areas. We go to alot of Black and Hispanic schools for career days because we have a quota to meet as it relates to Blacks and Hispanics." Army military recruiter in Houston
