Texas 22nd Congressional district of the House of Representatives post #1  quote:

The House of Representatives is one of the two chambers of the bicameral congress. The other is the Senate. The House of Representatives meet at the south wing of the United States Capitol. The United States Capitol is the capitol building that serves as the seat of government for the United States Congress, the legislative branch of the U.S. federal government.

Texas 22nd Congressional District is one of the important constituencies going for election. The district attracted immense attention due to its unique happenings in the previous elections. The district had a Republican leadership for a span of 20 years, before it was broken last year when a Democrat won from this district. It was represented by House Majority leader Tom DeLay, a republican leader who resigned after indictment. The leader went on to win the subsequent primary elections but doubted his chances of win in the coming general election. This prompted the leader to resign and not contest in the general election. DeLay’s position was filled in by the write-in candidate Sekula-Gibbs till the expiry of his term. Democrat and former US Representative Nick Lampson won the general elections with 52% of the votes.

Texas 22 nd Congressional District covers a south-central portion of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. It includes the cities of Rosenberg and La Marque as well as portions of Missouri City and Pearland, in Fort Bend, Harris, Galveston, and Brazoria counties. The district is going for a re-election. There are many known names standing for election in this constituency. This includes former Sugar Land mayor Dean Hrbacek, former Pasadena mayor John Manlove, former John Cornyn Chief of Staff Pete Olson, Family District Judge Jim Squier, State Representative Bob Talton, and NASA contractor Ryan Rowley.
