I was helping a friend write a paper about the influence of media in terms of beauty. We were trying to think of shows and/or movies that involve female characters getting "make-overs" without the use of plastic surgery. I guess more of an esteem-boost sort of thing. Anyone care to give some ideas? Thanks!
for some odd reason, while the word "Ganya" was still just a thought-dropping in my head, I thought it'd only be four letters. But apparently it's five. yep.
I don't know about shows or movies, but Dove has a campaign of commercials and ads going on where they're making a statement about beauty not being equal to unhealthily skinny with perfect skin thanks to makeup and lighting.
"You're disturbing...yet intriguing. Like couscous. I'm gonna call you Couscous from now on."
there's actually a show starting up in the new year called How To Look Good Naked. Carson Kressley (from queer eye!) takes women who has issues with their appearance and gives them a makeover of sorts. he shows them how to properly dress for their figure and eventually learn how to accept and love themselves for what they look like. then convinces them to do a nude photoshoot lol. it sounds right up the alley you're lookin' down.
