Cross in Focus Ministries actually started back in 1995. Out of a vision from the Lord and a basement budget we started a newsletter with accompanying preaching/tapes. It was in those early days of ministry that The Lord laid the burden on our heart for the hurting of this world. A hurt and pain that transcends color lines, socio-economic status, or geographic location. Since that time our ministry has moved from San Diego to St. Louis but the passion roars on like the embers that fell in that upper room 2,000 years ago. Very ordinary men from very ordinary towns who just so happened to meet a very extraordinary Man. When that fire fell upon the disciples that day their lives were changed forever. It is very much the same for all of us that have been involved in Cross in Focus Ministries.
We have watched God do amazing things over these years. We have seen children dishing out chicklets only to later be passing out the gospel. We have watched urine soaked homeless men forsaken by the party going crowds of Mexico find a warm blanket and loving stare. In India, we watched the enslaved paupers giving themselves over to 40 foot high images of monkeys and rats. Those same people moments later crying out to Jesus and set free. In strict Islamic Malaysia, we prayed in the open markets in Jesus name.
In this great country that God has blessed we have seen miracle after miracle occur. We have passed out blankets, canned goods, toiletries, fans, and much more but greatest of all we have been able to give out the Word of God. Countless lives have been saved and discipled yet the unfinished work remains in these cities. The cries for hope ringing out like a lonely bell in the night. The work remains and the faces are unforgettable: Boston, Waterbury, Providence, Philadelphia, San Diego, LA, St. Louis, D.C., and on and on.
