Was watching the Champions League draw today and I found it interesting that UEFA feel AEK Athens are a second seeded team, in essence what they are saying is that AEK are as good as Porto, Roma, Werder Bremen to name but a few what UEFA are also saying is that teams like Stuttgart, Celtic and Lazio are worse than AEK and I cannot see the logic in that.
We all know that the tragic death of Antonio Puerta has left UEFA with a difficult task and of course it was the right thing to do to postpone the game as a mark of respect but I wonder if they should not have postponed the draw as well. Being honest if AEK did beat Sevillia would they have gone into pot 2 or would it more likely have been pot 4?
The whole thing has been badly handled ( no surprise when David Taylor is involved) and really should have been held back if not for the game but also as a mark of respect to a man who won the UEFA cup last year. I doubt that AEK will overcome Sevillia but stranger things have happend all it needs is a red card or a dodgy penalty and anything could happen and if AEK do make it through then Arsenal and Steua have been handed a massive advantage I would even suspect that Kiev would be happy as it would pretty much guarntee them 3rd place and If AEK do make it through questions should be asked about who came up with this idea and on a more general point I want somebody to find out who the hell let David Taylor in the building.
