My solution to combat planet CO2.

Why? Because our planet lives on CO2. That's right the planet lives on CO2.

Any Junior High student knows that plants take in CO2 and produce O2 commonly refered to as Oxygen.

This is probably the biggest reason to NOT clearcut the Rain Forests.

The cool thing about this is that everyone can do their part. Plant a tree, grow a garden plant some flowers etc.

So what'd ya think, am I on to something?

Today it was announced that Richard Branson and Al Gore have teamed up and are offering a $25 million prize to anyone who can figure out a way to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. They have not yet told us how much unwanted CO2 is in the atmosphere, so I wonder how much they want to remove.

Boycott whoever you like, but don't China make EVERYTHING?

No-one's immune from the effects of global warming, including China, so they are going to have to do something, but they're on an economic roll right now, but still producing less carbon than the US.

The architects of Kyoto REQUIRE the U.S. and European countries to do something about MMGW now, but they do not require any such action by China. And China is not volunteering to do it. True, China is producing less carbon than the U.S., but that will soon reverse. Why do green minded people think it is OK for China to be on an economic roll at the expense of the environment while it is not OK for the U.S. to be on one?

I don't personally think it's okay for China to continue polluting the way they are, but like India, they are a developing country. The goods that China makes are also the goods we import and buy.

Companies have moved to China because the labour is cheap, laws and working rules slack, and the goods are made as we like them - cheap, throwaway and plentiful. China is every capitalist's dream come true.

I agree. For example, it bother the hell out of me, when in my school they shut the window blinds and turn on the lights (we have really big windows in many rooms, so just let the day light in). The lights should not be used in the day, if not needed.

Same with aircondtioning, do we really need to have some 15?C in the buildings during summer?
