Daily Dirt, January 10th, 2007 post #1  quote:

Paula Abdul says that she might have been fired from "American Idol" if Simon Cowell hadn't come to her rescue. In today's New York Post, Paula says that when allegations surfaced that she'd had an inappropriate affair with Corey Clark during "Idol's" second season, it was Cowell who ultimately stepped up for her. "He was extremely distraught and protective and supportive of me when that happened," says Abdul. "There's the times when he's like a big brother – or a lover." Of course, as "Idol" watchers know well, Paula also tells the Post that it's not all wine and roses with Cowell: "When he's just annoyed, I get the brunt of it." Don't miss the 2-day, 4-hour season premiere on January 16 and 17, at 8/7c, only on FOX! The season 6 hopefuls auditioned in Seattle, Minneapolis, LA, Memphis, Birmingham, New York, and San Antonio.

Yesterday we got some pictures of Britney out boating with a mystery man. Today, we learn that this man is Isaac Cohen, a dude who lives in Encino and is an Actor/Model.

Britney Spears’ stock has fallen so far that her stylist reportedly is trying to distance herself from the singer. Britt Bardo, whose clients include the likes of Kate Hudson, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Mendes, was overheard telling folks that she’s not responsible for her look. She says "Yes, I’ve done Britney Spears, but don’t blame me, okay? I make her up and she just takes everything off and does her own thing." Not long afterwards, Britney was spotted strutting at Shutters in Santa Monica in cowboy boots and a florescent bikini.

About 400 items seized from Whitney Houston when she fell $175K behind on storage fees were sold in a rundown warehouse in NJ. Among the items sold were a red and gold pantsuit embroidered with musical notes for $375; a set of 16 music awards won by Bobby Brown that went for $25 apiece (Bidding had started at 50 cents!); and a white-and-clear plastic grand piano that went for $20K. It would've been $121K brand new...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A USA Today/Gallup Poll showed that Americans are most highly anticipating Whitney Houston's comeback, over those of Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Tom Cruise. The poll found: Twice as many people expressed support for a Whitney comeback over Britney and Jessica Simpson. Of the 1,004 adults polled, 32% hoped Tom Cruise would have a comeback this year. More than 40% of respondents want the singer, who has been in and out of drug rehab, to shine again.

Jeremy Piven and John Cusack have been best friends for as long as either can remember -- but now, says Piven, Cusack doesn't like that Piven's become at least as famous (if not more so) than he has, and there might be a rift in their longtime relationship. Piven told Best Life magazine, "You start getting into trouble in life when you start comparing and contrasting your life to anyone else's," and gave a sharp "no comment" when asked about how Cusack has handled Piven's success on "Entourage" and elsewhere.

Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are sharing the top spot on Mr. Blackwell's 47th annual Worst Dressed list. Mr. Blackwell called them "Screamgirls" and said they are "peas in an over-exposed pod." Coming in next on the worst-dressed list is Camilla Parker-Bowles, followed by Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, Sharon Stone, Tori Spelling, Sandra Oh, and Meryl Streep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The rumor yesterday was that Dita Von Teese left Marilyn Manson and filed for divorce because of his excessive partying. Now the rumor is that she left him because he was having an affair with actress Evan Rachel Wood. He's 38; she's 19!! A source says Dita is heartbroken because she didn't see this coming. Marilyn and Evan have reportedly been friends for some time. They first met when he asked her to be in his upcoming horror movie, "Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll." She also posed for a watercolor he painted and went to the opening of his new Hollywood art gallery on Halloween.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When DJ AM and Nicole Richie broke up for good, the rumor was that he was putting the word out to his friends to hook him up with another celebrity so he could maintain his own celebrity status and charge more for spinning at clubs. Now it looks like AM has finally landed one... and it's none other than Mandy Moore!! The two of them were seen alking into a movie in Hollywood together and sources say they looked like they were trying pretty hard to be noticed.

While his children continue to fight over his estate, the body of soul great James Brown is still in a sealed casket at his home on Beech Island in South Carolina. The family is still trying to work out some issues including the location of his final resting place. A lawyer for the late singer says the room where his body lies is being kept at a controlled temperature and there are security guards keeping watch at all hours. The house remains locked to protect personal belongings. Brown died on Christmas Day of heart failure. He was 73.

Paris Hilton pleaded not guilty to drunk-driving charges Tuesday in Los Angeles. The heiress/singer was not required to appear in court because the charges are misdemeanors, and her attorney made an appearance on her behalf. Hilton was pulled over by police in September for driving erratically and told officers at the time that she had one drink on an empty stomach and was on her way to get a hamburger at a nearby fast-food restaurant. Hilton has no prior drunk driving arrests. If convicted, she could be sentenced to six months in jail and fined $1,000. The minimum penalty for a first-time offender is a fine, probation and rehab. Her next court date is slated for January 23.

Being rich = extreme boredom???? WTF?
This is absolute
If I had money, I would be able to travel, and learn new things, without worry of how I was going to pay my bills each month.
Kelly needs to try to find a new way to blame her own damn "issues" on something else.

And we all know that if you had tons of money, you're going to do nothing but sit at home, on your butt, being bored into depression, right?

Man... tell it to someone who doesn't have to scrimp and scrape to pay their bills each and every month.

Kelly O needs to go to school! Get a brain girl, and stop whining because you have enough money to meet your needs. Hell someone should send her to a poor country to build houses, and THEN she can see what people go through and they are not depressed. What a whiney little brat!

She's a talentless, pudgy loser who only has friends because her father has tons of money. Period. The fact I am aware of her existance angers me.

Exactly, Heck... she's only famous because she is Ozzy's daughter... and they did that damn reality show. ONLY REASON!

Just like Nicole Ritchie (Lionel Ritchie's daughter)
The Hilton twats...
and many other "wanna-be" famous people.

They get 'famous' because of their parents, and that pisses me off to no end.

Hell, should children of murderers be guilty because their parent was a killer? NO.

Well, neither should these spoiled biotches.

The entire Osbourne family is messed up.

I think having too much money can screw you up. You don't appreciate it if you didn't earn it yourself. Being a rich brat can hurt you if you don't have any morals or a decent upbringing from your parents.

I've always said if I became uber-rich, I'd keep enough money to live "comfortably" and the rest would go to the needy. I don't need $1500 shoes, or more than one car. I don't need to have someone who does my hair or cooks for me at my side 24/7. I wouldn't want their lifestyle for all the money in the world. I would travel, that's about it.

Those Hilton's make me sick! :

I would NEVER live like that. It's just not me. I would want to be comfortable, and not worry about my bills, and be able to travel and do things. But, to have to spend obscene amounts of money in order to live... ridiculous. Even when I was growing up... and still, I never spent a lot of money for clothing. It's just not who I am.
