No salads for me unless they are cooked, and you know what a mess that can be.
Apparently much of this E.coli showing up in vegetables is in the plant systemically. It gets picked up by the roots and spreads internally throughout the plant, so it cannot be washed off.
What is needed is a small, counter top nuclear radiation device, so you can nuke your salad and be safe.
