I just saw it, pretty darn awesome. My favorite part is Roslin is the pres, and she is like a church mouse around Adama.
"What are you doing with the nukes?" she mumbles. She knows from past history who is running the show. ADAMA.
He will nuke the planet if he feels like it.
Is odd, the cylons and humans showing up, the star about to go nova. Chief finding the temple, them setting up algae camp at the very spot the temple is.
I agree, Starbuck is a HO. So is Apollo. Both married, both acting like they are on a soap opera. No good lying skanks.
I can suspend disbelief, but when Gaeta was like, "what are the odds.... drrrrr...." I kind of laughed. What are the odds anything would happen to you. I guess algae planets and radiation pockets and killer robots are just par for the course.
Okay... so I rewatched the episode today. Had a much clearer head, from my meds.
It was a good ep, and leaves you going... I WANT TO KNOW NOW!
I don't see Adama nuking the planet, no matter what. Lee is his only remaining son, and it would kill him to lose him.
Ohhhhhh, the tension between Sam and Apollo. Sweet jesus, I thought that they were going to come to blows when Apollo was yelling at him how he's known Kiara a lot longer, etc... DAMN GOOD!!!!
Those toasters are pissing me off. And what is up with D'Anna and Baltar, and this journey of the remaining five. Why don't the cylons know who the others are? That is something that gets me. And what is that thing that talks to the cylons in that "bath?" She kept looking at Baltar, and repeating the same thing, over and over... "The chosen one" I think that there is something about Baltar, and D'Anna was too caught up, inside her own thoughts, to catch that.

Dudette, I am on your back for that whole statement except... Adama would nuke his boy. Imagine that shiz he went through on New Caprica. Total nuke that piece. He's nails. Toasters know it.
You really think that Adama would nuke the planet?
Here's what I'm thinking... not to just stop the cylons from getting the eye of jupiter. BUT, lets say they (they entire cylon fleet) were on the planet, then I could imagine him pushing the button and letting the missiles fly. But, with just a few of the toasters on planet side, I'm thinking that it would be a waste.

I'm not real sure. I got the idea she was the ship brain, and they had one on each ship.
But I could be wrong.
She reminds me most of the Minority Report movie with Cruise, they had some idiot/savants in tubs of goo that saw the future murders, then tommy boy would track em down and arrest them.
Lawless said this in post #21 : You really think that Adama would nuke the planet?

Without Earth they are dead. If the Cylons make it to Earth then there's not point in going. So in effect, it's Earth or bust. Not to mention Adama is trying to save what could be the last colony of humanity. Destroy the map and the Cylons won't find it.

-HECK!
Well, how about what Cal said, when the cylons were discussing if they would go to war and wipe out the humans. Like something that was brought up. Who cares if the planet is taken out. They could kill all the humans, and even if it took them 5000 years to find earth, they would still be alive.
So, if Adama took out this planet, I think that there would be a huge problem. No, I think that it's going to end differently with this certain 'situation' they are currently involved with.

Well no doubt Adama's not going to nuke the place with the crew down there. I'm just saying I think he would to prevent the Cylons from finding it. That's why he has his finger on the trigger and the toasters are seeing if he's bluffing. As Adama said- he wasn't bluffing.
I don't doubt that he would nuke the planet to keep the cylons from getting something to bring them closer to earth. But, not with the people from the BSG down there. That's what I was talking about... esp his son.
But, I don't think that he's bluffing.

Well, even though it won't happen because it would ruin the show, based on Adama's character I could see him sacrifice anyone to protect Earth. Not to mention his only other alternative is to leave which is a death sentence for those people anyway. Of course it's a hypothetical statement based on a fictional character on a space ship so I'm not too worried about it.
True... but, it's our show, and we gotta talk about it, right?
Yes, I think that you're right. To protect earth, he would smoke that planet.
If he knew that they were going to die, no matter what, he would take his people out, by nuking the planet, saving them from cylon torture, or imprisonment, etc...
