Gossips say they know why Jessica Simpson was in TEARS at the Kennedy Center Honors. She had just found out about 'Prison Break' star Lane Garrison's tragic auto accident. Apparently Lane was like a brother to her - they grew up in the same town and when he had problems at home, he went to live with Jessica's dad Joe Simpson when he was a teenager. Simpson helped make Lane a star like he did his daughters. And Lane loved being famous. When he went to Ralph's Saturday night to buy pita chips, two teen girls saw him and got VERY excited. They begged him to come to their high school party to impress their friends. Lane couldn't resist the flattery.

Actor Rip Torn is facing a DUI charge. New York state police say the 75-year-old was yesterday arrested after a collision in the suburb of North Salem. No one was hurt. But authorities say Torn refused a sobriety test after the crash. Torn was acquitted two years ago of similar charges in New York City. In January, 2004, Torn was arrested in New York City after crashing his car into a taxi, and charged with DUI. Even though Torn launched into an epic and vulgar rant at the police station, the actor was found not guilty. His lawyers were Judge Judy's two sons.

British tabloids say, Madonna and Guy are seeing a marriage counselor, because their relationship is worse than ever. And the word is that all the publicity surrounding their adoption of little David Banda from the African nation of Malawi has made things a lot worse.

Lance Bass and Reichen Lehmkuhl have broken up. Sources say it happened very recently and that it was a mutual decision. Apparently they'd been fighting a lot lately. Reportedly Reichen wanted Lance to drop his straight friends and get a full-time job. In other celebrity breakup news, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson have split. They play a couple on "The OC" and had been dating in real life for just over two years. A source says they've been done for a few weeks now. No drama. They just ended it.

Tori Spelling has signed a deal to write her memoirs, but it won't be out until the spring of 2008. Tori has been estranged from her mother Candy since before her father passed away, but she says her relationship with her brother Randy is okay. She says, "I hope that (the book) doesn't cause more damage. Randy's kind of caught in the middle because he has a very close relationship with my mother and a very close relationship with me." Tori adds, "I wish things were different. My mother and I have always had a difficult relationship." Among the topics she plans to cover in the book are plastic surgery, past relationships and her treatment in her dad's last will and testament. While Aaron Spelling left behind an estate worth well over $300 million, he only left Tori less than a million.
