An accidental contamination of the fleet's food-processing systems leaves it without anything to eat. As tens of thousands of people quickly succumb to starvation, the Galactica's overtaxed pilots must fly multiple back-to-back missions to lead the fleet through a hazardous region of space to a new food source. Meanwhile, Kat's past catches up to her, and D'Anna edges closer to uncovering a dangerous secret of the Cylons.

I watched a two minute clip, on the BSG site, on SciFi.com last night.
It showed the fighter pilots all pulling crackers out of their pockets, and sharing them with everyone. No one has any food... and they are all just worn out looking.

When the fleet's food supply becomes contaminated, everyone is in danger of starving to death. In a daring exploratory mission, Sharon discovers a planet teeming with edible algae — but it's on the far side of a massive star cluster. Flying around the cluster will take too long, and flying through it will expose the unshielded civilian ships to intense, deadly radiation.
Admiral Adama decides that the radiation-shielded Galactica will shuttle groups of civilians through the cluster. Simultaneously, the shielded Raptors will each shepherd a civilian ship, empty except for a skeleton crew, along the same route. They'll have to make five trips of two Jumps each to transport the entire fleet to the far side. The journey's midpoint, when the ships emerge into real space in the center of the cluster, will be the most dangerous part. There, disoriented by blinding starlight, the Raptor pilots must each establish the exact location of their civilian ships and transmit Jump coordinates to them before they can move on.
As civilians board the Galactica, a man named Enzo confronts pilot Capt. Louanne "Kat" Katraine. She dismisses him, but he pursues her, warning her that she can't deny her former life forever. As Kat runs away from her old identity, Gaius Baltar, still far away with the Cylon fleet, searches for a new one. With D'Anna's help, he tries to discover if he's one of the five human-form Cylons whose faces have never been seen. The clues he finds, however, lead him instead toward another rendezvous with the humans he has betrayed.
Back at the star cluster, the first group of ships Jumps away. At the journey's midpoint, one civilian ship, the Adriatic, is lost forever amid the glaring starlight and deadly radiation.
Later, on the fourth trip, Kat also loses the ship she was assigned to guide. With only one trip left to make, she and her fellow pilots are heartsick and weakened by radiation exposure. Enzo resurfaces, and Kat argues with him. Then Starbuck corners Kat and demands an explanation for the fight. Kat finally confesses that she used to be a drug-runner; Enzo was her supplier. She lied about everything — even her real name — to become a pilot aboard the Galactica.
Now burdened by Starbuck's disgust as well as by radiation sickness, Kat embarks on her fifth passage through the cluster. To prove herself worthy of her honorable new identity, she'll risk everything to ensure that her final trip succeeds.

Meh, Kat kicks the bucket. Oh well. About halfway through the episode I was wondering why they were giving her so much screen time. Then it was clear she was going teats up. Starbuck was cold blooded, probably what drove Kat to basically kill herself. Oh well.
Good episode. Glad to see Tigh back. Those two laughing was great.
Those Viper pilots looked tore the hell back. Tough peeps for sure.
I was a little confused about Baltar-D'anna-Hybrid talking that yang. Something about finding Earth. I don't know. Are they going to figure out who the other 5 are?
I wasn't all that happy with the screen time for Kat, but because of what she did, and they killed her off, I figured it was cool. Though, if she bit life, why is she the CAG? I was a bit confused about that. Oh well...
I think that Starbuck gave Kat what she needed... a dose of reality. Kat needed to know that what she did was wrong. But, she wasn't going to tell Adama, and leave that to Kat. So, it was cool.
I can't believe what those pilots had to do. That was some hard stuff there. And Helo looked like he handled it the best. You saw him, when they returned from one of the trips, and he was just standing there, seeming good, while the ones really effected (like Kat) were confused, or tossing their stomachs.
Tigh coming back was good... I just hope that he's not a complete jerk.
Though, I did like seeing him and Adama in the office, laughing their butts off. They needed that, to blow off some stress.
Totally confuzzled about what's happening between Baltar, D'Anna, and that hybrid. The convo between them, left me scratching, because I couldn't really understand it too well.

Lawless said this in post #5 : I wasn't all that happy with the screen time for Kat, but because of what she did, and they killed her off, I figured it was cool. Though, if she bit life, why is she the CAG? I was a bit confused about that. Oh well...
It was out of respect because she went out like a G. She was CAG during the New Caprica days.

Yeah, but that basically made Kat kill herself though. She was so scared of going back to that life. Tough love is good but that was pretty stiff.

He needs to be a jerk, he's the bad cop to Adama's good cop. He's an old crotchety fella, it works. I'm just glad his pity party is over. The eye patch is kind of weak, he should get a robotic eye or something.

Yeah, I dunno about that. Seems like they were connecting some pretty far out dots. A lot of stretching there.
And don't you hate it when people quote segments of your post and respond to each
They cultivate it, I guess. Make food with it. Hey, they fly in space ships. So what if they slap algae on a cracker or make a shoe out of it, I think we can suspend disbelief Mr. Negative Nancy
