Mandaric in bid for Leicester. post #1  quote:

Milan Mandaric, former Pompey chairman and hero of the south coast clubs supporters, has mad a bid of 25 million pounds for Leicester City football club.

This may cause his to lose some of his fans from Portsmouth due to the fact that Leicester fall into that catorgory of Pompeys rival teams along with Millwall and Southhampton.

Mandaric's ruthless style to ownership has seen him transform a stuttering, underacheiving and almost extinct Portsmouth City Football Club from first devision reglegation battling side into a Mid-table to top ten Premiership side. Leicester fans will no doubt be hoping that he can do the same for their club.

One thing is for cirtain if Milan takes control of the Foxes and that is that you will see the same ruthless style that has seen him go through several different managers in a very short amount of time.

I dont particulary want to see him take control of Leicester but I would wish him well. He has done more than enough for Pompey to allow fans to support him despite going to a rival team. Only Southampton wouldbe out of the question.

Weird I thought he still owned the club, who owns / runs Pompey now?

It is a reather unsusual move to buy 2 clubs in the same country and considering the rivalry it makes it more unusual. I have heard of people who have made a living investing money in clubs but never actually run them.

Milan Mandaric sold his half of Pompey to Alexandre Gaydamak sometime between the end of last season and the begining of this one. He was non-executive chairman until the night we lost 1-0 to Bolton this season. He left his position before the match started when Pompey were sitting on top of the Premiership. (they lost that place the same night.)

Alexandre Gaydamak owns Pompey now and has already invested over 10 million pounds in Pompey with the signing of Benjani, Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis, Noe Pamarot, David James, Niko Kranjcar and Andy Cole. His Money has also allowed Pompey to sign Kanu, Sol Campbell, Rodolphe Duala (loan), Manuel Fernandes (loan with option to buy) and Glen Johnson (loan).
