ZZ Top made this one of my favorite cars, as they drove it in old 80's videos, and I just thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.
It's a 1933 Ford Coupe, 3 window, with suicide doors. Those are the doors that open on the side closest to the engine, so if the car is moving, it will catch you and run you down.
I would love to own one of these, but as I not a millionaire, I doubt I ever will get the chance. The space shuttle was big in the 80's, it was new technology, so in the Afterburner Album, the car was transformed into a 33 car/space shuttle hybrid, which was pretty damn neat to me when I was all of 16 years old.
Nothing to do with the car, but the reverse of that album had the 3 band members in the space nebula clouds, also pretty darn neat back then.
I remember the Space Car in a car wash for the video Rough Boy, and it was really slick. I will try to find it on google, but it's an old video, I don't think I will have much luck.
this is the middle video, where the car turned into the hybrid. The graphics are way cheaper than I remember, you know being a kid, back then, all they had was cartoonish crap they could use.
the plot goes that the car is killed by a dozer, then ZZ Top blasts it out of a pyramid and it's the space shuttle now. Don't make a whole lot of sense...
