I agree that the Palestinian government needs to move in a diffrent direction but the problem is twofold in doing that firstly there are a Palestininas that agree with the stance Hamas takes on Israel and secondly wether we like it or not or we just choose to disregard it Hamas does have some very good local politicians ( like your US senators I think or our MSP's) who do take an active intrest in local issues and have in the past done a lot of good for their local people and that is a hard thing to remove people remeber the good you did for them or for thier community when it's time to vote, in a sick kind of way they voted in people who had done good things for them and now those same people are harming them.
What you need is to things you need the other political parties to follow the Hamas lead and get back to the grassroots of politics and that should allow them to maybe gain power the only downside is that the next elections are a long time away and I doubt Hamas would give up power if it was to lose. you also need to get the more moderate Arab countries talking to Hamas to try and get a change or a recognition countries like Jordan, Saudi Arabia and up until a few months back Lebanon might have been a good choiceto try and talk som sense into Hamas and fianlly we need to get food and medicine into the Palestinina areas you don't even hav eto give it to Hamas give it to the Red Crscent or UN stations but let's try and get the food and medicine to those that need it the most.

Many of them were raised from birth seeing Israelis in their streets and being embedded with propaganda. That is a slippery slope to get them to accept laying down the gun and turning to the table.
