Gold Rush is a game that requires you to solve a series of pop culture challenges online in order to qualify for a series of offline competitions in which millions of dollars in gold are up for grabs.
Each round consists of 12 challenges and the Gold Challenge. When you solve each challenge you collect a gold bar. Collect 12 gold bars and The Vault opens, where you will be given the challenge that counts the most, the one that might send you off to an exciting locale where you’ll compete against two other individuals in the real-world competition.
Although many gold bars are awarded by completing challenges like answering trivia, deciphering anagrams and solving puzzles, others require you to hunt for virtual gold bars hidden throughout the world of AOL.com. We’ll give you clues to point you in the right directions, but your sleuthing must do the rest. Check out Mark Steines’ tutorial video to learn more about how to solve challenges.
Once you’ve found a gold bar, you simply click on the bar to redeem it. That’s it! If you’re not logged in at the time or haven’t registered, we’ll give you the opportunity to do it right there. But you will have already registered, right? RIGHT?! Sorry about that outburst. We just want you to do well and registering is a great first step toward TGD, Total Game Domination. Keep in mind that it’s possible to jump into the game at any time. You can play the round that is currently open as well as any rounds that have already closed. If you’re new to the game, definitely take advantage of playing closed rounds to gain experience and practice. If you click a gold bar that corresponds to a challenge in a round that’s already closed, it won’t boost anything but your self-esteem.
To recap, click any virtual gold bars you come across, but don’t leave it to chance. Get your clues to find them by playing all the challenges in The Vault. Win the game.

The game begins September 13th and will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s’ Mark Steines.
