Yes, I believe the other "ones" had a choice. The basic theme of the two movies thus far is choice. Do I take the blue pill or the red pill? Do I go through the door to the right, or the door to the left? The Architect clearly states that choice, even if only on a nearly sub-concious level, is an integral and necessary part of the Matrix, else it will fail. As I see it, the Architect didn't HAVE to give Neo a choice. He could have said, "Ok punk, you made it to me like a good little boy, now get back into the mainframe, that is your purpose."
On a side note, I think it is interesting that in many major religions, life is viewed as a test, where you will be rewarded or punished depending on what choices you make. I think it would be HIGHLY interesting if it turned out that this is all the Matrix was... a test, a huge laboratory behavioral experiment.
Finally, I think there is a lot of evidence suggesting that the Architect (or some other higher being) actually CREATED the choice for Neo to make (see thread link below).
The choice before was always logical vs emotional. Logical in having to do what looks like the best choice for all those involved. The extinsion of the human race. The emotional connection between himself and all of mankind. To go to source and save people yet continuing on with the enslavement. There in the problem was always choice because both choices were both logical and emotional. This choice was different because it wasn't nearly as general as it was before. This time his choice wasn't involved with all of humanity on both sides but one side was still both logical and emotional and the other choice "Trinity" was purely emotional.
The other five "anomlies" had two choices as well, as was pointed out. Because of the Architects comments about ho the Others have a more profound attachment to their fellow man, you can assume both choices centered around Zion:
Choice #1: Go to the source, insert your code, choose 23 humans, and Zion will continue to survive.
Choice #2: Go back into the Matrix. Round up all the human help you can, and try and defeat the 250,000 thousand machines that we have sent to destory your race.
I think the more important question is what is there about Trinity that was worth risking the life of all mankind for. Even a fool in love would not have made that decision unless he/she had a vision of something brighter, some way around the consequences. What do we know about Trinity? That she was in the Matrix (12 years prior to M1, was a great Hacker (ie Kansas City) and was told by the oracle she would be neos lover). I think there is much more to the story especially now that neo and she have essentially fused (via her resurrection) and we will learn much more in the next episode.

Well this is totally conjecture here but maybe Neo not only used the love for Trinity to make that choice but also in realizing that the other 5 had made the other decision. Maybe Neo realized that this cycle was always going to continue this route if something wasn't done differently and hey he loved Trinity so the moral.....Love is blind? Love is the end all be all? The only thing worth living for is love?
Here's an idea. what if all the previous ones actually did fall in love and did have a trinity and neo did reload the matrix in the hope he and trinity would be one of the 23 to rebuild zion. this time things were a little different, smith was defeated by neo and so obtained the skills to copy himself and things happened as you all know. Neo saved humankind by killing smith the first time and giving him the power to infect things then neo finished the job the way the oracle planned - by letting smith defeat him.
