Elizabeth Mitchell will join the cast of Lost, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter. TV fans will remember Mitchell as Kerry Weaver's lover, Dr. Kim Legaspi, on ER and from the short-lived Rob Lowe drama The Lyon's Den. Mitchell's character is a possible new love interest for Matthew Fox's character, Jack. In other Lost news, Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro will join the show.

I absolutely LOVE Elizabeth Mitchell. I first remember her being in the movie, Gia, with Angelina Jolie, and I fell in love with her. So, I'm excited to see her join the cast of Lost.
Rodrigo Santoro was in the movie, Love Actually. Otherwise, I've never seen anything with this guy in it.

Rodrigo Santoro Joins "Lost"
Actor Rodrigo Santoro -- dubbed "The Brazilian Tom Cruise" by, uh, who knows -- will join the cast of "Lost" in season three. Michael Ausiello of TVGuide.com confirmed Santoro's casting with two reliable sources, "Lost" exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
In a true stunner, the producers are offering absolutely no details about Santoro's character. Like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje before him, Santoro is simply listed as a "mystery man."
"We don't really want to be at all specific about what we're doing with the character or what he's going to play," Cuse tells TVGuide.com while gleefully twirling his handlebar mustache (or so I like to imagine). "Part of the surprise and the enjoyment of watching the show is sort of getting a chance to meet a new character and see how his role is going to unfold in relation to the rest of the cast."
Santoro is a big star in Brazil (hence that "Brazilian Tom Cruise" stuff), but he's a relative unknown in the states. He's had small roles in "Love Actually" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." -- Mac Slocum
he was the guy that worked with Laura Linney that she was in love with and finally got to be with him but had to deal with her brother.

I read an article in TV Guide that said Santoro will be joining the cast as yet another love interest for Kate. So that makes three, plus for a little while in season one Sayid seemed to have a thing for her. It's not like Kate is the only pretty girl on the island.
Haha, I just thought of something that reminded me of Whidden's old 'Kate's the mole' theory. Almost all the girls that could have been competition for Kate have been murdered or were taken by the Others
