Collective subconscious and the universe as a hologram post #1  quote:

I'm reading "The Holographic Universe" by michael talbot, and right now I'm in the section outlining how the holographic model is related to psychology.

This particular excerpt shows evidense of synchronicity in the universe ...you will find it very significant to lost:
quote:

"Jung was treating a woman whose staunchly rational approach to life made it difficult for her to benefit from therapy. After a number of frustrating sessions the woman told Jung about a dream involving a scarab beetle. Jung knew that in Egyptian mythology the scarab represented rebirth and wondered if the woman's unconscious mind was symbolically announcing that she was about to undergo some kind of psychological rebirth. He was just about to tell her this when something tapped on the window, and he looked up to see a gold-green scarab on the other side of the glass (it was the only time a scarab beetle had ever appeared at Jung's window). He opened the window and allowed the scarab to fly into the room as he presented his interpretation of the dream. The woman was so stunned that she tempered her excessive rationality, and from that point on her response to therapy improved."

If the universe were a hologram, Walt's ability to appear anywhere out of thin-air wouldn't be so weird. Hurley's numbers could easily be transfered from one person's unconscious mind to another from any place in time.

Synchronicity, holograms, and psychology... the main points in this book thus far.

If the writers of lost aren't reading from this book, they aught to be.

Even better, it elaborates on placebo treatments and mystery cures as well as the physical healing power of strong spirituality. I'm completely convinced the writers of lost are using an arching story line at the end of which they will reveil the universe is a hologram.

Not like the Matrix. In the Matrix people are stuck in a construct. The holomovement is a theory that encompasses everything.

But that wouldn't explain their back stories or how they're all connected in some way. Unless it's a totalrecall meets the matrix kindo f thing where in them iddle of their lives they are put into the hologram and their memories are manipulated to match? I think everything is a hologram.
