Sierradaddy said this in post #15 : In my opinion, this is a poor argument. Halle will decide what she wants to do. We will watch her because she's HOT, not because she's a great actor. She isn't. She DID NOT DESERVE the oscar for Monster's Ball, imo. She didn't do anything special in that movie except for possibly have sex with Billy Bob on camera. To pick up an Oscar for that is high blasphemy, so I SINCERELY hope that isn't the case and the Academy just saw something that I and so many others didn't.
Now, to say that she needs a bigger role because she won an Oscar, is foolish. It opens doors, but her follow-up was Gothika, which wasn't that great, and then Catwoman, and I haven't even bothered to DOWNLOAD Catwoman because that would be a total waste of time.
Hehehe, even Halle said Catwoman was a piece. She accepted her Razzy for that, too.
We should get the Italian coaltion to sue Hollywood because Marisse Tome didn't get any good roles after her monumental and award winning role in My Cousin Vinny.
Like I said before, Halle was complaining after the first X-Men about Storm hardly doing anything. She wasn't under contract to do all three X-Men films. She decided to come back, twice.
With any franchise based on established characters, they are going to mostly show the popular characters and/or storylines: Wolverine, Wolverine & Jean Gray, Jean Gray/Dark Phoenix. Storm flying around with lighting coming out of her eyes doesn't sell comic books therefore it will not sell movie tickets. I dig it, I'd even rather see Cyclops be the main hero than Wolverine. It ain't gonna happen. I deal with it.
I'd rather see Colossus as the main hero... Alas... The effects for his armor look TERRIBLE in the movie stills to me (I'm VERY particular when it comes to Piotr Rasputin's appearance. It should not be ATTEMPTED if it isn't gonna be done right. Make him stand 7'5" when armored, and make his legs thick and muscular like the rest of him... Too tall an order? Then make him totally CGI, and it'll look a helluva lot better...)
I'm the same way with Ice Man. He needs to go all iced out.
I really wanted all five original X-Men to have one scene together, that would be awesome. They were all there, but noooooooooooo. Ratner has to worry about Fastball Specials, Danger Room and Sentinels.
I hope not, but we shall see. Reviews are either good or so-so. Not great. Kind of like the Da Vinci Code buzz. It will make a ton of money because it's X-Men, but I bet it drops off big time next week.

-HECK!
Critics say Berry is not major part of movie. Wolverine either.
Is this true? If true, Berry should sue those involve with movie, starting with Stan Lee. Like a prostitute, her acting career was exploited. Selling the movie was her only major part of the movie. She wins an Oscar and she only gets one liners and has no major part of movies. I need to go to law school.
Malcolm, you're telling me that you HONESTLY BELIEVE that Halle DESERVED her Oscar for Montser's Ball? I felt that she was not believable in her role. It didn't work for me. The only thing that worked for me was the sex scene, but only long after she said, "I want you to make me feel GGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOODDDD!"
She shouldn't sue, malcolm. She was PAID very well for her role. She's been paid 3 times for her role as Storm, and while she may have been complaining about screentime, she's still cashing in. Nobody is in love with Storm's character, and Halle should've CONSIDERED THAT before she took the role in the first place. She had more than enough time before the first movie began shooting to make her case for more screentime, since she would've received the scripts and re-writes before principal photography began. No one should sue. It's an ensemble cast, a film about a bunch of superheroes, and everyone's story can't be told in 3 films. Storm's always been a supporting character, not the star. Just because Halle NOW has an Oscar (undeservedly so, imo. Not that she's a bad actress. She just wasn't Oscar-worthy in Monster's Ball. Maybe the real issue is why the Academy handed out 2 major Oscars to black actors on a night where a black woman was hosting, and many black people and black contributions in movies were honored? I thought before saying that Halle should sue over petty screentime in an ensemble movie where her character isn't really a main character, you of all people here would ask why THAT is...), she should all-of-a-sudden get special treatment for a character that was never intended to be the center of attention? I don't think so.
BTW, I find it interesting to note that Halle turns 40 this year. Amazing, that 40 is the new 30. She looks fantastic. I just wish that she would get a role that IS Oscar-worthy.

Malcom, you should go to law school, because there is absolutely no basis for any kind of lawsuit. I highly doubt there was a minimum number of lines or scenes guaranteed in Berry's contract. No studio in the world would even consider a concession like that. She was paid to act, she did and she was. That's it.
She complained after each of the first two movies and still did the third one, why? Because she was paid bank. The directors, producers or whoever could have edited her out of the film if they wanted to. Nicholas Cage was paid $20 million for his role as Superman. Of course production on that was halted and he never worked one day on the project.
Who is forcing Halle Berry to take crappy roles? Why doesn't she fire her agent? You can't blame anynoe but one person, Halle Berry.
