I've been anxiously awaiting tonight's show, because I've been missing Chris for the past week. Now, I've already listened to the mp3's of each performance for tonight... but, I'm still amp'd up and waiting for the show, just moments away.
Elliott is starting us off tonight with, "On Broadway" by George Benson. I love his voice on this song. It's a little raspy, and deeper too. Plus, I love his look, and his movements. This is a great performance.
(Loved the Ford BOLD commercial, with Kelly Clarkson singing)
Paris is up next, singing, "Kiss" by Prince. Now, I'm NOT looking forward to this, at all. And I've said that since I heard what she would be performing. After hearing the mp3 of this, I have to say that I was right. But still, I'm not pushing the mute button. Is it too early to hit the "next" button though?
My Chris is up now, with "Renegade" by Styx. I love his voice... I love his look... I love everything about this man. I love that he is a rocker, and he keeps it that way. He's shown that he can do more than just rock... but, THIS is who he is. If people don't like it, that's fine. Press mute. As for me, I'm soaking up every moment of this man, who should be our next idol. He knows how to work the stage, and move around.
Katharine's turn with, "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins. I love Phil Collins. His voice, his songs, his writing. Do I love Kat doing this song? I thought that I would. But, tonight she's left me a bit worried from this first performance. It's just not what I was expecting from someone who CAN do so much better. Her voice was nasally, and her key was off. (Cute interview with Ryan before hand, regarding her wardrobe 'malfunction' from last week. His comment about her wearing boxers was funny.) That dress is HORRID on her. I want something like last week... not this strapped up rag on her.
Taylor in the "pimp spot" tonight (there you go, Sherry), singing, "Play That Funky Music White Boy" by Wild Cherry. The real Taylor is back tonight. I LOVE IT! He needs to not let ANYONE tell him how to be. Now, it's not the best in vocals... but, it's good. I love him going into the crowd, and really dancing. (Oh, I just hope that Simon is steaming mad)
Elliott is back with "Home" by Michael Buble. Now, on the mp3, I thought that he sounded shaky doing this number. Now, I don't hear it. It's amazing how there can be a difference... but, there is. He has got to put out an album, and I want to have it. I picture romantic candle lit settings, his cd, and my girl.
Paris doing a song that I've been WAITING to hear, all day... "Be Without You" by Mary J Blige. I love this song (one of my favorite Mary songs), and I really want to see Paris do this one. The mp3 of it really made me happy, so I hope that the tv performance is just as good. Okay, I'm TOTALLY happy with this performance... and I would think that Mary J Blige would be as well. Awesome job, Paris. One of your best, in my opinion.
Time for my man, once again. Chris is going to give us a little Shinedown, with "I Dare You." I love when they do the flames behind him. Because, peeps... he's ON FIRE!!! This is a great song, and he, once again, does justice to another song. I love the strength that comes through when he's behind that microphone. He commands attention with his presence, and that is something that not every artist has.
Katharine , on the floor, singing "Black Horse and Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall. PLEASE get up off the floor, Kat!!! That's just a bit strange for me... esp with those movements. This performance sounds better than the mp3 that I listened to earlier. It was an okay performance... not the best, but, okay.
Finishing us up is Taylor . Performing "Something" by the Beatles. I don't like the song, I don't like the group, and I didn't like the mp3 either. So, not much to say.
In my opinion... and that's just MY opinion... Chris was the best tonight. I liked both of his performances.
Following up would be Elliott, who did a good job on both.
Then, Paris.... I liked the second performance only.
Then, Taylor... I liked the first performance only.
Worst of the night would be Katharine. She just didn't impress me.
If we stay with the current voting pattern, and the bottom people, then Paris will be leaving tomorrow night. But, once you hit the top five, it's ANYONE'S game.

I didn't hear it personally, but Mark & Brian where talking about it on the radio today. I guess after Taylor's second performance, at the end, he was asked if he likes the Beatles and Taylor goes, "...I f***ing love the Beatles." Or something like that. Did anyone record it?
Well, everyone slips. I find it harder to believe that the west coast feed wouldn't bleep it out. It's really live on the east coast, but they can edit it all they want by the time the left coast sees it.
