You are totally intitled to beleive in what ever you want to ... who we i to force a religion or beleif of people?
quote:
But man ... if the rest of our system of belief was based on not being able to prove it's wrong ... then no-one can prove that I'm not God, and that he should be sending me money. Actually, that's pretty much what those preachers do isn't it.
Father John Trigilio, president of the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy, EWTN contributor and author of four books said, "I am asking my parishioners and Catholics everywhere to boycott the film and any of its advertising sponsors. I am asking them to protest by sending e-mail, snail mail, phone calls, and faxes to those who made this film."The Da Vinci Code is offensive, sacrilegious, blasphemous and historically inaccurate, as well as incredulous. While those who proclaim 'it is only fiction' forget that any and all written words have an impact on the reader; and erroneous conclusions based on imaginary premises can and often do lure many readers to accept and believe as true what their normal common sense and ordinary human reason tell them is utter nonsense

Unlike the overwhelming evidence for the truth of the bible, of course, with its fantastic and magical tales of water turning into wine, neighbours coveting each others ass, the walking on the water, curing the leprosy, people living to 800 years old, inventing huge boats that save the family of one guy and propogate the earth with a pair of each of the giraffes, ostrich, beavers, mosquitoes, amoebas, etc, after god wiped the whole joint clean of everything with a flood that lasted for 40 days, or something, not to mention all the stonings of prostitutes, the incest, the death of the infidels on a humongous scale ... whatever, you can't believe a ****ing word of the bible, really, based as it is on a 2000-year-old game of Chinese whispers played by drunk English monks.
And yet your Catholics and religious whatever folks see NO IRONY in decrying the Da Vinci Code as a pack of lies and a fiction, yet base their entire belief system on a book that's no more credible than the Lord of the Rings.
Curious, no?
Oh - it's called "faith"?
No - it's "delusional nonsense".
As for boycotting Dan Brown's book, that's not far from the book-burning idiocy of the Nazis, and the people who smashed the Beatles records when they said people cared more about them than they did for god.
Religion is a joke, god is a myth, and belief in it is borderline mental illness. I think.
