I'm really tired of people backing the old one, and not giving the newer one a true chance. They did an AMAZING job on this show, and the story line is SOOOOO much better. The acting is stars above the original. The first BSG was soooo cheesy. I loved that show, don't get me wrong... but, todays BSG is filled with much better story lines, twists and turns, and sex too!

The old one was total cheese and just a Star Wars rip to boot.
Sure, it doesn't have too much to do with the original, but even beyond a special effects standpoint, the story is really gritty and dramatic.
Baltar on the old show was a like a cartoon villan. I half expected him to have one of those curly mustaches and he would twirl the end of it when coming up with a new dasterdly plan.
I love the new Baltar. He's got a great character storyline... and he's not just inherently evil. He is going on, with life, looking out for number one... and when he realizes certain things, he protects himself, at all costs. He's good, and bad. The other Baltar, in the original BSG, was a creep. And you're right... a curly mustache would have been appropriate on him.

New Baltar has depth, he's bad and being good and good at being bad. Conflicted and close to losing his mind. He's responsible for letting the Cylon's nearly destory humanity, but he tries to save them, but he's in love with a Cylon, but she's not real, but but but... It's a trip.
That's what I love about this new BSG. I love all the twists in the plot. I love how they made it so much more real, and believable. That they is depth to each person. There's great history, and drama.
