To me it was a big disappointment, compared to last week. Most of the contestants performances were down somewhat.
If these are the greatest love songs of all times, the music industry has gone to hell in a handbasket. I have at least 400 in my collection that top all but a few of them.
At any rate, I will list how I think everyone performed tonight and, as usual, I will discount the song selection and rate them on how well they did or did not sing the song they selected. I'll comment on how well I liked the songs they picked, but try to be as objective as I can be about the performances only. The list is in order of how I would rank them.
1. Chris: Enjoyed the song. This guy can sing. If only he would stop wasting his talents by offering us the rock junk. Thankfully, we were spared that tonight!
2. Katharine: Enjoyed the song, but she could have picked a hundred better ones to show off her magnificent voice. The judges are NUTS! I thought she sang very, very well. I do believe the judges have a way of trying to balance things out from week to week and decided in advance to knock Kat down a bit this week.
3. Elliott: Hated the song, but he did it very well.
4. Taylor: Great song, but mediocre performance of it.
5. Paris: Same as for Taylor
6. Kellie: Great song, but not the best choice for her. She did a not so great job with it and will probably be gone tomorrow.
