Angel, the old, brooding vampire with a soul (and occasionally without one).
Cordelia, the once self-obsessed beauty who's inflicted with what could only be called the curse of sight.
Doyle, the Irish half-demon who passes his "gift" of sight onto Cordelia.
Wesley, the "rogue demon hunter" who mysteriously showed up in LA immediately after Doyle's death. He's suspiciously English and as cunning as a dead fish.
Gunn, the free-lancing vampire killer who has the street skills and, eventually, becomes a brilliant attourney (as all street-thugs do).
Fred/Illyria, the brilliant but crazy Fred was found by Angel in Pylea and brought back to earth, only to eventually become Illyria.
Lindsay, who leads the Wolfram and Hart battle against Angel and Co., eventually becoming "one of the good guys" before being turned on by Lorne due to his sordid history.
Lorne, a.k.a Krevlornswath of The Deathwok Clan, the Host, the singing demon, who gets his bar repeatedly destroyed because of Angel Investigations yet stays constantly in good spirits. Sexuality undetermined (as if it was important)...
Skip, the huge ugly demon who's good natured (at least, until you find out he isn't). "Hi, I'm Skip" was his catchphrase.

I liked Doyle. I thought dude was a cool actor, but the show wasn't strong enough in the begining. If he would have come on later it would have worked.
Wesley was cool but got too preachy.
Angel's son was the worst character ever. He was the cousin Arthur or Great Gazoo of the Buffy/Agel universe.
Angel's son was lame sauce ultra salsa picante. I hated his face.
When Wesley first showed up he was quirky funny. Then he turned all noble to protect lame ass Angel Jr. I don't know, that show just started jumping sharks so much. Making Gunn a lawyer. Ugh.
Wesley being all noble in protecting Conner was awesome, simply because of the way the whole thing ended. Even then, he didn't learn much, cause he did the whole thing again in season 5 when he released everybodys memory of Conner. Frickin' do-gooder.
Gunn was cooler as a lawyer. I couldn't stand him up until the 3rd season... then he became less of a wank.
Fred was awesome from her first appearance. When she became less nutty she was even awesomer. I always liked Andrew's statement in Buffy, when he called Angel: "I spoke to a guy named Fred who sounded oddly effeminate." I don't know why I bring that up.

I hated Connor, and the fact that he boned Cordy enraged me on a personal level. That little toolio is getting the hottest broad this side of Sunnydale? Please.
Gunn was dope. Little gangsta slayin' is always good.
Fred was interesting. Kind of a watered down Willow though. When she turned into some freaky demon lady I didn't know what was going on. I stopped watching once Spike came aboard as a ghost and they took over that law firm.
"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Mark Twain
I have only watched the very first episode of Angel just to see how I like it. It was pretty good. I bought the first season.
I can't really say who my favorite characters are yet. Except for Angel of course.
Yeah, you should really watch a few seasons before you vote. Some of these characters don't show up for a while, like Skip and Fred. And you'll have NO idea who Illyria is.
