This morning he is missing. Probably leaving Afganistan.
I spoke with some American Muslim and they claim this is not a Muslim punishment and is an Afgan thing.
I bet that if he went to Saudi, he would still be killed.

Well he was always going to find sanctuary in another country Italy or USA are his most liekly destinations as they have spoke out the most.

I don't know if Saudi follows or enforces all or any aspect of Sharii law so I could not tell if he would be treated the same in Saudi.

Find some American Muslims who have gotten out and ask them. I've heard that the local imam usually just has the person killed. It's "just an afghan thing" to do it in the courts. Killing people who dissent is the central theme of islam.

Associated Press reports Abdul Rahman, the Afghan who faced execution for converting from Islam to Christianity, has been released.

I've been hearing rumors that he is a homosexual male (..not that there is anything wrong with that...). Fearing persecution for being gay under Islamic law, he converted to Christianity.

I don't know what to believe when it comes to the Media and Politics, but it explains why his family may have turned against him.

I'm glad he's released and I hope he enjoys all the religious freedom in whatever country he may be in.

I don't believe being gay is an issue in the middle-east. It is a well known fact that Muslim men may have "boy toys". Sad but true. Isn't islam a great religion?

I think any relgion that condemms somebody because of who they get it on with is wrong. I do agree with USA1 though it has nothing to do with his sexuality.

I'm curious as to why you titled your subject matter "Lickety's Last Lick".

I was in no way implying anything negative about the Afghan Christian's sexuality or religion. I just made a comment on what I thought was relevant to the thread.

Hmm..

There really is no "last lick" by the way...
