The Fine Line post #1  quote:

It's a fine line between right and wrong when it comes to animal testing.

People agree that it is alright to use animals in medical tests but it is not alright to test cosmetics and things like that on them.

However this is not about the rights and wrongs of animal testing itself but about animal rights activists.

There is a fine line between they right way to demonstrate and the wrong way, it's just a pity that the wrong way is highlighted more than the right way.

For example so called"animal rights crusaders" threw a dog infront of hounds during a fox hunt a few years ago. If not for the hounds owner interveening then the dog would have been ripped to shreds.

Then there is the more recent case of the guinea pig farmer who has suffered abuse for selling some of his Guinea pigs onto animal testing facilities. He has had things thrown at him, his car vandalised, verbal abuse hurled at him and I'm sure that some of you remember that these "Crusaders" for better rights for animals dug up the remains of the farmers dead mother and ripped her body apart and threw the parts outside the farmers house.

And only a few weeks ago some Animal rights crusaders released a number of boars from a special farm. These boars have become feral and have terrorise a small town. If these boars are caught they will have to be put down, they cannot be re-homed any more simply because so idiots decided that they new better than the person who owned those animals.

The right way to protest the cruelty towards animals is with propaganda and passive protests and not by taking the law into your own hands and making a situation a lot worse than it was before you got involved.

That's terrible. It's true a lot of environmentalists go too far, but quite a lot of them have their hearts and minds in the right place. These "crusaders" you're talking about, however, should be caught and put in gaol.

People who are passionate about anything, and want to help their cause usually are harmless people, who just want their voices heard. But, in all cases, there are always a handful of people who go to the EXTREME! These are the people who think that it's their right, or that they or serving "gods will" or whatever it is they believe in. They do things that are so far over the line of being okay, that you can't believe what you're hearing/seeing.

You know, I'm a huge advocate for animals, and hate seeing anything bad hapen to them. And we all know that Grant (gaboman) is passionate about animals... as he and his wife are always rescuing homeless animals, or ones that no one else seems to want. They give them a home, and love, and a family. But, I could never imagine Grant and Yoyo doing something like in this report.

It's no different than those who picket for abortions to stop. There are those who are passionate about this, and want to see them stop. Then, there are those who are beyond passionate, and they fight, bomb, and hurt people, to get their "point" across.

It's all just sad that there are people who feel that they need to, and think that they have the right to, go this far.

Using animals to test cosmetics, stupid. Using animals for medical tests, go for it any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

These militant grave robbing animal lovers should be shot.

If I remember correctly they only found the skull and some other parts in the summer, the police cuaght some protesters and they plea bargained or something like that.
Sooner these people are off the streets the sooner those on both sides can have a sensible and safe debate on the issues.

Well it's not really animal testing that we are debating it the actions of animal rights activists.
Apparently animal rights activists are suspected of carrying out a recent letter bomb campaign.

You can passively protest as long as you want, but while the profits are enormous and vested interests are protected and promoted, non-violent protest is easy to ignore. Isn't that the way it's always been?

The very violent poll-tax riots in the UK changed the policy, while the biggest peaceful protests in history couldn't stop the Iraq war. Nelson Mandela supported terrorism. There was violence involved in the Suffragettes getting the vote for women in Britain. There was violence involved in getting the vote for black people in the US, etc.

Saying that, I don't think letting boars out that then need to be shot is very useful. Neither is digging up a body. But stupid people exist in all walks of life.
