Naw there is a simple point. If they do not think they can make the trip then they should not try it. Plain and simple. A woman old enough to have a child should be able to figure out if she can make the trip or not.
I need not walk a mile in their shoes. I have no business in their shoes. I'm in mine and mine alone.

Simple point, yes, but it's not a matter of knowing if you can survive such a trek. They don't know. They take that risk and are prepared to suffer the consequences. That shoe fillin' I spoke of before would help one better understand that.
The Mexican government ought to hand out a little something to inform them that they would be better off to not risk their lives and not break the law, instead of handing out maps and booklets that encourage them to take the risk, and inform them about how to scam our system as an aid to survival.
