Grammy award winner Ashanti was the main musical act at the showcase of skating and we followed her around. The singer arrived at Nassau Coliseum one hour before the show was scheduled to begin, in a pair of her jeans, a sweatshirt, sunglasses, and sneakers. As she settled into her room Ashanti changed into her first outfit a half see- through top with shorts. Her crew of makeup artists, stylists and more then started to get her hair and makeup done; simultaneously Ashanti began to warm up her voice. With ten minutes remaining Ashanti was all set up, she then she tested her heels and off she went. The singer continued to warm up on the way and with a minute remaining received last minute makeup. After doing her routine for ‘Only U’, Ashanti left the stage with 45 minutes to get ready for her next performance. With no time to spare she was back in her room where she received a bottle of water and off she was, changing into her next outfit, a sleeveless jacket and a pair of her own Delicious Curve jeans. As she was catching her breath, she watched her previous performance, and had her makeup done all at one time.
Quicker than it seemed she was back on the stage performing ‘Happy.’ With two performances remaining, Ashanti and her crew had approximately only 12-14 minutes to get ready. Ashanti and her stylists quickly took her out of her last outfit and fitted her in a short mini-skirt dress with long white boots. Ashanti had her makeup done on the way to the stage and off she went. She sang ‘Rock With You’ and ‘Foolish’ which was her first hit and concluded the show taking a traditional bow with all others who participated. Not shockingly, Ashanti was tired. After removing her attire, makeup, and extra hair pieces, Ashanti refreshed in the shower before leaving the arena in a red jumpsuit, sunglasses, and flip flops.
