Unfortunately, since this is a multi-part series, not all of the information is available to the viewer in this first episode, particularly the elements of the main character's history. So I completely understand your perspective with what you know.
So, without giving away too much of the forthcoming plot, all I can say is that he should be judged for what he shows through his actions, not necessarily what he says.
Well, do we KNOW for a fact that he was/is a SEAL? I mean, he could have just been trying to make one think that.
Marc, had no idea that you were going to do more to this! Cool... make sure to let us know, so that we can see where this story goes of this guys life. Hopefully he will get out of his drunken state, and 'get a life'
