Marc, I'm at work right now, but will watch it later. I did go to the link, and read the synopsis, and start the beginning of the film. Is that you, in the read sweater, with the glasses on?

While any kudos will be warmly welcomed, I'm really looking for any constructive criticism anyone can offer as well. But please go easy on us - this was our first little movie on a $400 budget.

It shows you, on the link... but, here it is for you anyway

Observe a glimpse into the life of a young man whom has served his country, amassed tremendous wealth in a short time and augmented his understanding of the world by venturing to the corners of our planet in search of answers to life?s secrets.

Or has he?

A lost soul, Roy Parker wanders aimlessly along an ill-fated path burdened by guilt, shame and lost hope. This is a short episode of a man and his self-proclaimed accomplishments fading away at the hands of humanity?s greatest weaknesses.

Roy is burdened by the pressures of his past. A history full of honor and success or perhaps only an illusion created and destroyed amongst the toxins of his dependencies. But one thing is certain: we have all met him. Roy Parker is ?That Guy.?

Okay, I've just finished watching this film, Marc. It's definately a trip. This poor guy... don't know if he's coming, or going. And that scene in the ladies room. Damn, those women can be vicious.

I really liked it... following Roy on his night out, preaching in his drunken madness, and finally finding his way home. Interesting scene at the end, with the voice, talking to him.

the good:

I liked all the music.

the zepplin was awesome.

the story held my attention the whole time.

the acting was halfway decent for a low budget film, especially the women.

the film quality looked good for a low budget movie, it was more than what I expected.

the bad: (or not really bad, just average)

the rave scene was a little too long, reminded me of Matrix Reloaded, I didn't go for that one either.

the voice of God at the end, (or wormhole alien) was cool, but a few words there, I missed, couldn't make it out 100%.

Though it may work at home. I'll try it there.

That's the kind of entertainment that I can really get into. I enjoyed it, especially the writing.

For a $400.00 budget, the quality was very much like other low budget indie films, which is what I have always enjoyed the most. Strangely enough, if you would have made the film on a million dollar budget, it would have cheapened the story for me.

I had a little difficulty hearing some of the dialogue, but that certainly didn't make the film un-enjoyable.

"That Guy" kind of reminds me of any guy, or gal, who has ever felt stuck in life and coming to terms and accepting that the way things once were, are no longer, so get with the program and adapt to new circumstances and grow with it, or could he be so stuck in life that he had to make himself believe that he was, at one time, something he never was in order to justify his own worth?

Was the voice of "God" really just his subconscious reiterating to him what he has said to himself in the mirror many times over? Is the guy aware that he continues to fall into these specific coping behaviours, but disgusted in himself for never allowing those behaviours to motivate him enough to help himself move forward? I'm just guessing, but that is what I got from it. I didn't really take the word of "God" as the actual word of "God."
I believe only a person who is trying to reconcile with themselves would use the word "piss" as a tool to wake themselves up.

We "filmed" it on a Panasonic DVX-A100 that shoots progressive video at 24fps.... mimicing "film". It had a good movie quality effect that might not be completely obvious in this compressed online version.

The quality of the audio suffers a bit in the compression which, I agree, makes some of the words more difficult to understand. Our final DVD makes it a little easier.

Any luck with that?

Good to hear. If there proves to be enough motivation, we will eventually make the second episode in the series.

You've got it down. Answers to these questions would play themselves out down the road.

Thanks for the great feedback. I'm of course open to more if anyone else manages to check out the movie. Much appreciated.

Ok..Marc...I will say what I really think.

I will not be kind to you..

Your "hero" or Main Character is someone who has endured the almost impossible rigors of becoming a Navy Seal.

The Seal training is both physical and mental.

He has served his country well and emerged with his anatomy intact.

I cannot believe that someone who rose to the pinnacle of hunan achievement cannot think of how to deal with the changes of his new life.

If you had not said he was a Seal, I might think again. I have no argument with your production, since I am not qualified to give an opinion.

To me ..it was not believable.

Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback, Becker.

Unfortunately, since this is a multi-part series, not all of the information is available to the viewer in this first episode, particularly the elements of the main character's history. So I completely understand your perspective with what you know.

So, without giving away too much of the forthcoming plot, all I can say is that he should be judged for what he shows through his actions, not necessarily what he says.

Well, do we KNOW for a fact that he was/is a SEAL? I mean, he could have just been trying to make one think that.

Marc, had no idea that you were going to do more to this! Cool... make sure to let us know, so that we can see where this story goes of this guys life. Hopefully he will get out of his drunken state, and 'get a life'
