Religious Censorship: Is It a Big Problem? post #1  quote:

Some people make the case that Christian faith is under attack. I heard this issue discussed on the radio so I decided to ask the question here. Is freedom of religion under attack?

If there is a bunch of atheists around, could you be denied the right to wear a cross or a witchcraft symbol?

Welcome to INR Vito9.

I do think that Christians are coming under attack. Here in San Diego there is a cross on top of Mount Soledad. It is part of a war memorial. ONE atheist sued, and for the past 15 years there has been a fight over it. Why? Certainly not because it angers most of the citizens. The majority wants the cross to stay, but one person is making a huge stink.

I find it odd that the country that was founded in part to keep our rights to have religious freedom, now has so many attacking Christians. Those are just some of my ramblings. I'll let a more eloquent person take over.

People are just so touchy about religion these days that it seems they don't want any sign of it anywhere. Christianity is being targeted more heavily because it is more common here, but other religions are being attacked as well. And lack of religion, too! Last year I wore a necklace to school that had a Darwin fish on it and some people I didn't even know got in such a huff!I had to tuck it into my shirt just so my fellow students would stop yelling at me. The teachers never told me I shouldn't wear it, though, it was all students.

I don't care if or how anyone tries to "censor" my faith in Jesus.
It's impossible because He alone brings life to my Spirit.
And they can never kill or "censor" that.

They could rip out my heart, tape my mouth, rip out my tongue....but it still would not stop me from praising Jesus.
It's a lost cause...and it's both sad and humorous to think that anyone can censor anyone's faith.

Thank God I live in the "Bible Belt"

if anyone ever tried to censor the Bible here, they would be met with an opposition that would make them cry.

and I would laugh.

heartily.

I live in Southern California. Land of the liberals blah blah blah. Guess what? My son's school has them singing "joshua fit the battle of jerico" and "felix navidad". Yep, they mentioned Christmas in school. Pretty shocking to hear a bunch of kids at school singing "this little light of mine".

I don't know about the Christian faith coming under attack. More like a broader acceptance and understanding of those outside the religious majority and a more equal learning environment in the public school system. I think if you want to have your child believe that the bible is a history book, then you need to enroll them in the proper private school.

It's kind of amusing, actually. The religious majority has dominated American society for so long that when there's the smallest hint that it's being rolled back a tad, still not even close to a even level, all of a sudden an entire faith is 'under attack' by a liberal band of sinners.

There's a difference between censorship and open-mindedness. Our country is growing and will continue to grow. New and different ideas are here and they're not going anywhere.

When you said this I imagined a calavry of liberals. It looked funny Dang, that would be awesome to see to top of a hill lined with liberals on horseback.

This may have been a valid point in this discussion had the Crusaders actually been Christians.

They weren't. The Crusaders were Knights Templar, precursors to freemasonry and the Illuminati. Hardly Christian people.

There is nothing new under the sun. Just rehashing of old rebellion.
