David and Victoria arrive at Madrid's fashionable Buddha Bar. Onlookers might have been forgiven for mistaking the man in black for Zorro
Britain's favourite footballer played host to a roll-call of A-list pals on Monday night as he celebrated his 30th birthday. Liz Hurley, Elle Macpherson and Geri Halliwell were among the big names in attendance when David Beckham marked the beginning of his fourth decade with a lavish party in Madrid.
His teammates Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Michael Owen were likewise among the revellers in the Spanish capital's trendy Buddha Bar. Wife Victoria arranged for all of David's friends to meet up for a posh meal followed by a dazzling display by a troupe of flamenco dancers.
The former Spice Girl, who reportedly bought her husband a £15,000 watch for his big day, also had the BBC's DJ Spoony flown in so all the guests could dance until dawn. The couple's siblings and parents were there too, although their three sons - Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz - were fast asleep in the family's Spanish mansion.
Upon his arrival for the event David, who actually turned 30 last week, proved he had lost none of his trend-setting fashion sense. There was a distinctly Latin flavour to the dinner suit cummerbund and open-neck shirt he chose for the glitzy bash.

Everybody loves a birthday party - cake, music and if you're really lucky a good family row.
And David Beckham's 30th really provided the goods with both his dad and his father-in-law going head-to-head in a shocking fall out.
Victoria's dad, Tony Adams took the opportunity to let Beckham Senior, Ted know that he's not happy with the way David has reportedly been treating Victoria.
A partygoer, who was privy to the row, told the Daily Mail:
"Victoria's dad went up to David's and started having a go at him about David's behaviour at about 2:30am. He said that he was worried about Victoria - that she is all over the place - and it was down to the way David has been behaving."
Ted was quick to bite back, supposedly calling Victoria "hysterical" and warning Tony to stay out of the Beckham's marriage. The argument was finally broken up by Victoria's uncle, but guests said Tony was "practically shaking."
The couple, however, were not believed to have heard the fall-out at the party which went on until 6:30 in the morning.
Earlier in the evening, the couple posed happily at the birthday celebrations despite a year of rumours that include David's supposed infidelity with Rebecca Loos.
David Beckham is the master of the transformation... he's tried more hairstyles and looks than all the supermodels put together - and certainly more than his wife Victoria.
And now the dad of three has managed to find yet another style to try out - this time the slick 1930s film star look.
With more than his fair share of gel, the Real Madrid star brushed his locks back and popped on a seriously smart dinner jacket and dickie bow.
He was accompanied by his wife Posh in a stunning pale green dress to the World Sports Awards in Portugal - where several other big stars pulled out the glamour stops too.
Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher opted for a glitzy pale blue gown and British actress Joely Richardson chose a strange orange frock with more layers than a lamp shade.
Becks failed to pick up an award at the event but still looked very much like Clark Gable as he left with Victoria.
He's looking good. And they are looking good together. They are more smiling and happy these days, than we've seen them for a long time. Good for them!
