Dungeon Siege is a role playing action game.
You can fight with melee weapons, like swords, knifes, axes,
or you can use a bow and arrow and be an archer,
or you can do Combat/Nature magic, and be a Mage.
However, you don't have to choose one, you can mix and match. Fight with an ax for awhile, then use some spells.
The more you fight, the more addictive it becomes, because you get stronger and can fight more stronger foes, go more places on the map, etc.
Each time you get to a new level from using a weapon, you get a neat little cheesy "icon celebration" above your head.
So it becomes like shooting heroin, fighting dudes, then advancing in levels.
(they claim heroin is addictive, I dunno myself)
Very addictive game. I maxed out on it round two years ago, when I first started Inreview.
And slowly quit it.
I had some friends and we set up a game online, but only played a couple of times.
Modem connections really drag the game down.
Anyhow, with the new cable modem, I been getting online with strangers that the server sets you up with, it gives you a list of maps that are playing now and you can join.
Been spending way way too much time over there!!!
Like anything else, you meet some really neat people while playing and you meet some real hard core cheese heads.
Most want you to fight with them, that's why they start an online game and don't set a password. Duh!!!
Others start a game, you go in, and they order you around, tell you not to kill "their" enemy, but get mad if you head out on your own.
Plus your share of weirdo's and geeks as well.
Just like an internet forum I suppose.
Couple of pics of gameplay:
