The Island post #1  quote:

I saw teasers of this movie on Apple. Seems quite Matrix-ish. Apparently, clones of real people lie around in a facility where a simulation is fed to their brain that they live in an utopian World. Of course, a couple of them get out and learn the truth. It looks good, especially with Ewan McGregor and Djimon Hounsou.

My guess is that the clones are supposed to be used for their organs, since there will be no rejection at all from the body immune system because of the perfect match.

M.

p.s. I just checked with Yahoo movies, and it seems that I am right about the use of the clones.

I just saw it on DVD. It was kind of silly.

Spoilers:

I don't understand how they get on a hover train, (only 13 years into the future), and then later, on the highway, use train axles to get bad guys. Yeah, we still use train axles on hover trains.

The semi truck driver who is hauling the train axles, seems to not notice that they are flying off of his truck, and that cars galore are exploding behind him.

Then we see hover craft in the air, mostly air buses and air trains, way way up there, 200 feet,

and the bad guy/good guy is chasing the clones around in a HELICOPTER.

yeah, and old fashioned helicopter, with blades.

Then, the clones look up Movie stars on the MSN web portal, and it hooks right up to the movie stars house. Like her number would not be unlisted.

Plus, don't get me started on the holographic generator, that will explode and take out the whole building IF YOU SIMPLY TURN IT OFF.

And please, the good doctor badguy, who had several bodygaurds with guns, is going to take the time to choke his clones to death, putting himself in danger?

then at the end, the clone gets the dudes boat? like they just give him all the guys stuff, cause he is his clone?

This movie had some halfway decent effects, but whoever wrote it needs to go to science fiction class, and get some pointers.

I liked it. I definitely saw things I would have changed but I enjoyed watching it over all. I would have spent a little more time on Jordan and Lincoln in the real world.
