I am surpised that the neo - nazis are still about. The popularity of these groups is waning globally and the fact that military units have been used to dismantle is also proving to be a huge deterrent. Mind you a lot of people believe that the war against terror has put issues like Neo - Nazis on the backburner even though these groups are terrorists and should be treated as such. The fact is that these groups used to look like they had power and installed fear on older sections of the German community who rembered what Nazism did to decent people, now however they just look like sad hate filled individuals.

The remarks about Hitler I found intresting as well. Obvioulsy these fools have a one sided view of this maniac but in Europe especially people tend to be firghtend and fascinated by this man but for one reason or another never get to see the full picture which is a sahme becuse when you do get to know the wholse stroy he becomes more frighting and to an extent more fascinating ( not in a good way of course)

As for Dresden I was shocked about a memorial service and the fact that some Germans want an apology from the UK for the bombing, why should we apoligise? do we expect an apology for the blitz , fact is these bombings happend during a war and that makes it fair game.

Sorry if it seems like I have gone on and on but I believe a lot of this stuff is linked together.

"BERLIN, May 8 -- German authorities on Sunday averted the spectacle of thousands of neo-Nazis marching past the capital's most visible monuments, including a new Holocaust memorial, as police and counter-demonstrators bottled up a rally by skinheads and other extremists on the 60th anniversary of the country's surrender in World War II.

About 3,000 neo-Nazis gathered in a plaza in the center of Berlin to protest what many of them derided as "German guilt" over the crimes of the Third Reich and to portray German civilians who suffered or died at the hands of the Allies as overlooked victims of the war. It was the latest in a series of public rallies by neo-Nazi groups, which have taken advantage of record unemployment and other factors to attract new followers."

I too am amazed theyre still around. But we also have strong supporters of mussolini as well. I think a few generations from now, those who were inspired will surely die off. Leaving their children's childre to grow up in an era without such leaders.

I hope that it dies out. Sadly, that type of thing still goes around. There are still a lot of white supremacists around. Hopefully someday people will get a clue.

On the contrary, neo-nazism seems to be more popular as the polarisation of western society grows. A report I read some time ago stated there are more then 10000 neo-nazi youth in Russia. There must be more elsewhere, and let's not forget to take Americcan History X in account, maybe only a movie, but based on a true story.
Besides them, the small population of individuals that are labeled, 'holocaust deniers' seems to grow and grow too. ****, there are actually people out their that say the entire nazi scheme of killing all the jews was really a story made up by the Allied countries after the world war.
