The chief executives of Sony are impressed with last year's robotic dog sales. The stock went up 32% and gave the company an idea. As Editor-in-cheif of Business Week, Stephan B. Shepard, said in an interview last week, 'Sony is creating a robotic dog that is using forty electrical circuits. Some of the circuits are commands such as eating, sleeping and jumping at sounds. The company doesn't want to replace dogs in anyway but it is concerned with using technology to create something complex as a dog.' Their are people who scoff at the sound of a robotic dog. 'I think it is ridiculous to own one of these things,' said Gus Norris, a shop keeper in New York. 'Robotic dogs don't show affection and they can't protect you from harm. They just follow commands while you sit there and watch. What kind of a dog is that?' The admirers of the new Sony dog replied in an email to the company stating that they would be first in line to buy the dogs even though the prices are not quite low.
This is quite a waste of time and money. I think Sony should focus more on building things that will help the average person.

Where'd you get that text from? It has spelling and grammatical errors which make it obvious that never passed through the hands of an editor...
but indeed. Somtime I, too, am confused as to why such talented people expend their efforts on fruitless crap. Like genetic engineers trying desperately to make Brocciflower. WTF! Cauliflower and Broccoli weren't good enough as they were?? Isn't there ANYthing else you could focus on that'd be more productive and isn't purely rooted in profits? In some ways capitalism is not good for progress at all...
I think it could be the fact that scientists and inventors are struggling for an invention that could make them money. The wheel has already been invented so they are trying to invent something that the wheel could be used for. Some of the inventions are actually very helpful but are receiving little attention. My Text, by the way, came from a magazine called, Z magazine. It is a magazine that writes political issues and also investigates crazy inventions. The magazine is not't very popular but if you subscribe to it on the Internet then it will come to you for a month and thus I have been getting this magazine for a month.
