Yo, does anyone know where I can find one? I've tried all the usual suspects and browsed some boards and no one seems to know where to get them. Anything would help.
Normally one would simply opt to select hardware for which drivers are available - not everything has a driver, are you certain that one exists at all for that modem?
I dunno, I'm starting to accept that possiblity. See, it's one of those crappy winmodems, so it doesn't detect normally through linux.
I dunno, if no one knows, it doesn't matter. The installation of linux on this 'windows' computer was just starting point for when I get my own computer.
I am sure you will find one Matt. Just keep looking. If SUSE can have a bunch of generic wireless drivers for my internal wireless card (even though the wireless card company hasn't provided one yet), I am sure you can find one for winmodem. I would suggest you check out the SUSE ftp. Sometimes recompiling the source code works, since the kernel is essentially the same for SUSE 9 and Fedora core 2, except for a few things. It is a bit of a pain to find the ftp download site and navigate through it, but I am sure you will eventually find it.
