Steve Martin in Pink Panther post #4  quote:

Pink Panther site

quote:
A world-famous soccer coach has been murdered and his priceless ring has been stolen - a ring set with the stunning diamond known
as the Pink Panther. The French government needs a master detective to solve the crime and recover the gem...but he's not available, so they recruit Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Comic superstar Steve Martin stars as Clouseau in an all-new
adventure of The Pink Panther.

A stunning pop star (Beyoncé), a soccer player, a Chinese
assassin - who committed the crime? And can anyone solve the case? Clouseau and his partner, Ponton (Jean Reno), must unmask the murderer and keep their boss, Dreyfus (Kevin Kline), from taking credit for the victory, all without bringing the French legal system to a screeching halt. Get ready to be tickled pink.

This movie was absolutely awesome. I haven't seen a funnier movie in years, quite honestly. Steve Martin, who I typically detest, was brilliant, as were Jean Reno and Kevin Klein. The writers and director should get a pat on the back too, for bring back a brilliant old series and managing to make it superior.

I enjoyed it too. I wasn't keen on seeing it, but my sister made me. I was laughing heavily in several parts of the movie. I was also struggling to understand Steve's crazy french accent, which for me was part of the fun.

I wonder how much Jason Statham (from The Transporter) was paid for his "moment of glory" in the film? I gotta say, I love that guy's presence... Even in THIS film...

Every time he did that I laughed my butt off. And all those poor cyclists. All through the movie they were getting bowled over or knocked out

Yeah, that guy who flew over the top of the car had me tearing up with laughter. I also laughed everytime Steve said, "Guuuud wonnn!"

I don't know if it's just me, but I find the actress that played Nicole (Emily Mortimer) kinda sexy in a quirky way. I hope I'm not the ONLY one...

Yeah, she was hot. Beyonce looked pretty hot in this movie too.

hehehe "guuud wuuun" The funniest of those scenes was when he jumped from the ceiling flat on his face...

"YOU SIR... are the idiom!"

"He was found dead."
"Was it fatal?"
"Yes."
"How fatal?"
"Completely."
"I want to talk to him now!"
"You can't, he's dead"
"Ah!"

Kevin Kline had a scene where he said something that had me REELING. I can't remember it exactly, but I think he ended up saying something like, "Dear GOD!", in response to Clouseau after the Inspector said something highly dim-witted. His expression was PERFECT when he said it, and I wasn't expecting it. I fell off my chair.

Kevin Kline was great. His fake French accent was very subtle, but noticable... I can't possibly fathom how you could pull that off.

Another good part was when he was talking to Uri the Trainer who Trains, "well, I must admit - I find your accent rather amooosing!"
