ATHENS, Nov 19 (Reuters) - A group of Greek lawyers are threatening to sue Warner Bros film studios and Oliver Stone, director of the widely anticipated film "Alexander," for suggesting Alexander the Great was bisexual.
The lawyers have already sent an extrajudicial note to the studio and director demanding they include a reference in the title credits saying his movie is a fictional tale and not based on official documents of the life of the Macedonian ruler.
What opportunist scum. As if ANYone whom the lawyers represent actually suffers damages as a result of the suggestion that Alexander was queer. What a pitiful display!
FARRELL CHALLENGES LAWYERS TO SUE HIM IN ALEXANDER FLAP
Irish actor Colin Farrell is challenging a group of Greek lawyers to sue him for portraying Alexander the Great as bisexual in the new movie, "Alexander."
A group of 25 furious Greek lawyers insist the legendary conqueror was heterosexual, and they're now considering suing film studio Warner Bros. and director Oliver Stone for claiming the contrary.
The group has sent an extrajudicial note insisting that the studio include a reference in the credits saying the movie is fictional.
But Farrell, who plays the historic figure in the movie, says, "Do I think Alexander was bisexual? Absolutely!
"Don't sue Oliver Stone ... Sue me! And try and tell me there's something wrong with it. Try and tell me ... how you're gonna prove physically this man wasn't.
"Get out of your bigoted frame of thinking and just see that it was a beautiful thing. If anything we have ... de-evolved because of our ability to judge and our insistence on judging. Why is it even a big deal? Just go and see the movie."
Angelina Jolie, who plays Alexander's mother in the movie, adds, "It's not about sex in the film. It's is actually love, which I think is the bolder thing to portray and the deeper thing to portray."

The Irish actor - who is renowned for his womanising - says the man-on-man embrace left him in no doubt about his heterosexuality.
He revealed: "It was horrible. I mean, I've never had any doubts about my own sexual preference for women, but doing that scene was all the confirmation I could ever want. Not a pleasant experience!"
However, Colin - whose ex-lovers include Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore - says bisexuality was the norm in the days of Alexander the Great.
He explained to Britain's New magazine: "This bisexual thing is just an example of how different society was.
There wasn't any of the hysteria about sexuality. Sex was just sex in those days. Maybe we could learn something from that."
Meanwhile, Colin claims he spends all night partying to cure his insomnia.
The Hollywood heartthrob says the only reason he enjoys wild nights out is to make him tired enough to sleep.
He explained: "I have trouble sleeping at night. That's why I stay out all night sometimes when I'm out on the town. I know I'll have trouble falling asleep unless I exhaust myself."
Director Oliver Stone has slammed American audiences as homophobic, and says this prejudice is the reason why his latest movie, "Alexander," flopped in the U.S. Stone expects the epic biopic, which stars Colin Farrell as bisexual Alexander the Great, to perform better in Europe as he believes Europeans have a better understanding of ancient history.
He says, "Americans don't read about ancient history like the Europeans. And in America there is a raging fundamentalism and morality. From day one the Bible Belt people did not show up because there was one phrase throughout the media and that was 'Alex the gay.' So you can bet your [bleep] the Americans aren't going to see a war hero who in their heads has something wrong with him. But I don't regret what I have made here for a minute. It's the epic of my life."
I can't remember if I was ever a real fan of his work. Did he do the movie Platoon? That was a good movie, and probably the only one I'd say I truly liked of his productions. But, maybe someone should list all of his stuff, or maybe I should not be so lazy and just google it... Ah well... Shows how much I care...
