LATEST: ASHANTI has again hit out at reports of a rift with R+B rival BEYONCE KNOWLES, insisting it has been manufactured by the media.
The singer was recently reported to have taken on an endorsement deal with hair care firm HERBAL ESSENCES to compete with Beyonce, who has a deal with L'OREAL.
But Ashanti insists any friction between the pair is entirely fabricated by the press: "Me and Beyonce, we both know that we don't have hate for each other.
"The media tried to make it into something it wasn't and it didn't work. We were both like, 'Hey we are both successful.' That was it."

R&B star Ashanti is to team up with pop superstar Beyonce Knowles to dampen rumours of rivalry between them.
The 24-year-old singer recently slammed suggestions she took an endorsement deal with hair care firm Herbal Essences to compete with the Destiny's Child star, who has a deal with L'Oreal.
The Foolish hitmaker is also keen to get R&B singer Mary J Blige involved in the project.
Ashanti says: "When you get two women making hot music, comparisons are going to be made and talk of feuds begins. I admire what she does and don't have a problem with her. I've talked about making a record with other strong females. I'd love to do something with Mary."
