POP princess Britney Spears is facing unwanted chart competition from her husband's ex next year. Actress Shar Jackson, who had two children with Kevin Federline before he ditched her for Brits, is trying to launch a singing career.
Early 2005 will see the release of Hot Girls, the first single from Shar's girl band Mpulz and insiders say the 28-year-old is determined to beat Britney, 23, at her own game.
A source close to Shar said: "She was devastated when Kevin left her for Britney so there's still bad blood. She was a talented actress whose career has been overshadowed by her links to the singer. Now she's determined to make it huge and show her rival a thing or two."
Jackson describes her band as "a five-girl group, multi-racial, pop, R&Bish, really, really funky."
Well, that clears that up!
And it seems the Mpulz album won't be easy listening in the Spears household - insiders say some tracks take a blatant pop at Federline, 26.

Pop singer Britney Spears is furious after being branded a "wicked man-eater" in a forthcoming song by her husband Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson.
The superstar, 23, reportedly is dreading the album release from Jackson's girl band Mpulz, which contains lyrics referring to Spears "stealing" the father-of-two away from their young children.
Jackson was seven months pregnant with Federline's second child, son Kaleb, when the backing dancer announced he was leaving her for Spears in April.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star Sunday, "She's mad as hell about this because she feels as though she's being portrayed as a wicked man-eater who's robbed a family of their dad."
Well if it's Shar's band and not Shar individually, then the lyrics could be about anyone, if any of the other girls in thr group have ever had an experience when a man left them, then it could be about that and not about Britney.
What sort of a name is "Mpulz" for a group anyway? I don't even know how you pronounce it.

Shar Jackson tells The New York Daily News she's sick of only being known as the former lover of Britney Spears' hubby Kevin Federline.
"I was my own person before the whole Britney thing," Jackson moaned to Lloyd Grove. "I was an actress and a celebrity before the whole Britney thing. And if this has been the focus, that's pretty upsetting."

She admitted to being a celebrity before the Kevin and Britney thing, so should be used to people wanting to know stuff about her. It would be the same had Kevin left her any other celebrity, she shouldn't blame Britney.

JACKSON BLAMES HERSELF FOR FEDERLINE'S ROMANCE WITH SPEARS
Actress SHAR JACKSON blames herself for her ex-boyfriend KEVIN FEDERLINE leaving her to marry BRITNEY SPEARS - because she urged him to move to Los Angeles to find work.
The former MOESHA star was six months pregnant with Federline's second child when she learned that he had embarked on a romance with TOXIC singer Spears.
And mother of four Jackson admits she told dancer Federline he had to go and look for work after she became fed up with supporting him.
She tells America's STAR magazine, "Ironically, I was the one who said, 'Hey dude, you need to get a job. The thing where I'm the only one with an income is not going to work.'"
So in April of last year (04), Federline went to Los Angeles for auditions and met Spears while out partying one night. They eventually embarked on a romance, before getting married in September (04).
Jackson adds, "I was hurt really, really bad. It was the stupidest thing to think that Kevin would leave me when I'm six months pregnant with his baby. I just couldn't believe it."
Jackson and Federline now enjoy a civil relationship as they raise their two children. She notes, "At the end of the day, life is too short to hold grudges."

Aparently one of his friends said that Kevin finds pregnant women repulsive and can't stand them and he certainly doesn't want to be in a relationship with a pregnant woman.
I can understand that to a certain degree, but it should be different when you know it's your baby growing in there.
Britney Spears has been practicing her mom skills by playing stepmother to the two children her husband, Kevin Federline, has with actress Shar Jackson. And now, with a new baby on the way, they're about to become quite the extended family. In parttwo of her exclusive interview with MTV News, Jackson describes how they make their unusual relationship work.
"My main priority in life is my family, and you know what? In some strange, distant way, she's part of that now," Jackson said.
When Britney comes over to Jackson's house - so that Kevin can spend time with 2-year-old Kori and 9-month-old Kaleb - Jackson said they treat each other as friends.
"Every time she walks in, I give her a hug," she said. " 'Hey, girl, what's going on?' She comes over, we talk about whatever, the funny stuff that the kids do, or a joke I crack. We hang out for a little bit before they go on their merry way. And I'm cool with that."
Jackson hopes Britney will be equally cool with making sure Kori and Kaleb get to have a relationship with their on-the-way half sibling. "I mean, they're family, so if the other side of the family permits it," she said.
Jackson accepted long ago that she lost Federline to Spears while she was pregnant with Kaleb, she said. She likes to joke that she's not paying attention to the media scrutiny or the Kevin/Britney celebrity. "Who's that again? Oh, my kid's dad," she laughed. "His wife? I don't know, some chick he married. That was so last year, you know, I don't keep up.
"The whole fame thing, it doesn't make a person better than anybody else," she added. "They just got a little more dough and they're just a really popular kid in school. That's how I look at it."
While the fame factor may not faze Jackson, especially since she's been acting since age 3, she is concerned about its effect on her children. They don't realize who Britney is because they're too young. "It's not like, 'Oh my God, Britney's in the house!' " she said. But they are being photographed when they're spotted with the singer, sometimes in photo ops that Britney has set up herself, and that's not something Jackson's terribly keen on.
"I just don't really like my kids being photographed, period, you know?" Jackson said. "But that's part of the trade-off. I'd rather it be their choice to say, 'Hey, I want to be in the spotlight,' instead of it just being forced upon them. But it is what it is, and we deal with it."
Still, she's not about to start schooling Spears on how to stepparent her children, let alone parent her own.
"That's her mom's job," Jackson explained. "My mother told me and taught me everything I know, that she could teach me, without me learning on my own. That's something that her and her mom, they should do that. That's a special thing for a mother and a daughter. When my daughters are old enough, and they're ready to do that, we're going to bond that way. So I'm not going to interfere with that. That's for them to do."
Spears and Jackson's Relationship Remains Strained

She says, "Kevin and Britney have their own lives. I have my life with my kids, and Kevin is a part of that. Thus, Britney is also a part of that.
"But rarely do we get together. Rarely. I asked if the baby was doing well and he said, 'Yeah.' We left it at that."
And, as for reports Spears and Federline's marriage is already in trouble over Federline's penchant for clubbing while his wife of a year tends for their new baby Sean Preston, Jackson says, "C'mon, kiddo, did you think things were going to be different? Kevin was there for (daughter) Kori every single day of her life until I told him to go out and get a job."
