Latin singer Shakira is horrified when fans mistake her for chart rival Britney Spears. The Colombian star accepts both singers have blonde hair, but insists her taste in men is very different to Spears.
Spears is married to dancer Kevin Federline while Shakira has been dating Antonio De La Rua, the son of former Argentine president Fernando. Shakira says: "They ask me if I'm Britney Spears…what a silly comparison: Shakira would never marry a back-up dancer."
AZCentral.com: Canadian crooner Bublé sings about missing home on his sophomore CD, the gold-selling It's Time. No wonder he misses it - the 29-year-old has been in constant demand since his debut album in 2003. Both discs are heavy on Sinatra-era standards - I've Got You Under My Skin, The More I See You and Summer Wind are in his repertoire - and Bublé offers them with a stylish punch. So stylish, in fact, that he's featured in a current Starbucks commercial, offering a swinging Come Fly With Me.
Bublé (pronounced boo-blay) talked about home - and family and music - during a recent call to promote his gig Wednesday at the Dodge Theatre. Keep reading for the part on Britney... Click here for the full article!
Randy Cordova: Do you think some of your success comes from being an old-fashioned showman? You can sing, dance, tell a joke and a funny story. Not everyone can do that these days.
Micheal Bublé: I agree. It's kind of a lost art, as opposed to having a huge dance routine with explosions and big video screens. I mean, I like that: I took my little niece to see Britney Spears and I thought it was great. It was entertaining and for someone with a short attention span like me, it was nonstop.
But there was no intimacy, no talking to the audience, no "moments." I don't have the explosions, I don't have the video screens, but I like to have a really close relationship with the audience.
When she sang (mimed) "Everytime" on the Onyz Hotel Tour and the whole crowd was singing along with her you could see she loved that, especially since she wrote the song and it's very special to her and therefore her fans.
Here's what Mischa Barton had to say about In The Zone in an interview with Cosmopoliation:
My iPod
It's great for travelling. Rachel turned me onto Britney Spears' In The Zone. I'd never listen to this kind of pop, but she totally got me into it and now I love it. I recently downloaded The Postal Service, The Killers, most of the bands on our show and Damien Rice, who did a song for the movie I just filmed in Europe, called The Decameron.
Nicole: I take inspiration from a bunch of different artists but I really like Britney Spears as a performer. When you think of Pop Star you think of her and she took something that she was really good at and went with it, which I really admire. She puts on a whole show, which is what I would love to do and whenever she's on tour I go and see her concerts like 3 or 4 times.
