Hey gabo. I was big on Mortal Kombat when if first came out back in the day. I played the second one in the arcade, but really drifted from there.
So, all these years later, I saw a pop-up on a website and went to their official site. I read up on about the game, it looked pretty damn sweet. So, thanks to good ol' credit cards, I got it that day.
It has killer graphics. It's one-on-one, but there are other game modes besides the arcade & vs. You can play online, there is a chess mode, and a puzzle fighter game (think Tetris with MK characters). Then there's a RPG-style version called Konquest where you look for crap, do these missions, and battle MK characters, past and present.
In the Konquest and through the other game modes, you get coins and keys which you use in the Krypt to unlock other features (hidden characters, alternate costumes, etc.)
There's a lot to do. I've had it for a few months, hasn't gotten old at all.
My friend got it when it first came out. We played it constantly. Not a bad MK title IMHO. Rent it first see if you like it. If so than buy it. I believe it's being sold at columbia house for 9.99 now.
