A few days ago I saw Le Pacte Des Loups. This was my first French film and I loved it. Even though it mystified and dramatized the American Indian character a bit too much but the plot and acting was great, script was well paced and the action awesome. Un excellent film. Those who never saw it because it was French should set aside their bigoted ideas and enjoy this great film.

p.s. For my fellow Matrixers, you have the biggest motivation to see this movie: Monica Bellucci.

French cinema, like the Indian one for example, keeps releasing productions of its own that find an audience. Well, I like American movies but I wouldn't like them to become the only ones in the theatres.
I am pleased you enjoyed this movie. I did too.
The thing with Indian cinema is that it produces multiple times more movies in a year than Hollywood, so we have a quite old and thriving industry already. We have 1.3 billion people after all, not to forget the Indian population literally spread all over the world. Hollywood movies are popular there too, but the market is always dominated by Indian movies.
I am curious, but how do American movies fare in France compared to native French movies?

p.s. There is another french movie in American theaters now, Apres Vous. I suppose it came a bit late here. Have you seen it? What is your take on it?

I know about the strength and vitality of the Indian cinema. I have already seen some Indian movies in French theatres and liked them.
I have to do some research to answer your question with up-to-date statistics since the ratio may change significantly from one year to the next one, but last time I heard about it, it seems to me that Hollywood movies and French movies are 50 / 50 in term of market share. Maybe American movies do a little better than the French ones.
I haven't seen this movie - "Après vous".
Apres Vous is a romantic comedy. It says that its actors are quite famous in France. Unfortunately it wasn't released in many theaters here. I will have to find it on DVD.

Indian movies in Parisian theatres are projected with their original soundtrack (subtitled in French).
Sorry but I haven't heard about this movie "Après vous" - I may not keep myself informed enough. Do you know the names of the actors ?
OK, thanks.
Now I recall - it dates back to a couple of years ago. I heard about it but did not see it. The main actors are indeed famous in France. It is probably a good movie.
