These IQ?s are calculated from state SAT and ACT scores, adjusted downward about 10 points to get to average.

OMG...Im sorry....where did these people come up with average IQ's for these states? From SAT and ACT scores? So they dont determine IQ from ALL people...just young people's test scores to get into college? ACT test and SAT tests dont determine IQ.....

As an adult...I dont remember taking an IQ test anytime lately and I havent taken an ACT or SAT since high school...I dont know anyone else who has either.

Give me a break!

I cant believe you people would buy into this so easily....it cracks me up!

Taking average scores from tests of young high school/college age kids and averaging them out into the entire state population??

Thats just it Whid! BUT...If you'll notice a few of the people on here ARE taking it serious.

I just wonder if they chose not to look further into it and see where this info comes from.

It absolutely cracks me up more than anything that people buy into this! I find it more humorous than serious.

Isnt that a Bob Seger song? Feel Like a number?

Seriously though...I can live with that fact...but there are some numbers that just dont add up to logic...

This would be one of them...C'mon Sean.. even you have to admit that!

If those stats were true, consider this:

How dumb would the smarter half of the country have to be to make themselves look so bad while such an "obviousely" stupid president was brainwashing everyone else?

Bush is too dumb to form a sentance, but he's got the top job in the country and he is capable of brainwashing over 50 million people at a time.

I can't even train my dog and I've got an I.Q. (last I checked 5 years ago) above the nation's average.

Just sayin...

From what I hear, Bush is a smart guy.

He just has bad stage fright, and gets his words all mixed up while speaking to large crowds.

I don't think Bush has stage fright. I believe he is being very very careful about his views as any mistakes will be shown 8 million times all over the world.

Oft times I wish someone would throw caution to the winds and say what they really think about some things.

Especially when the brain dead media primes the pump with their stupid questions.

I feel sorry for Bush. He has to repress many of his feelings.

I found it so ya all quite up post #23  quote:

Here is President Bush's toal I Q score based on the SAT etc.

He has a score of 124 which is 24 points above average, so you guys quit picking on him and sayinghe is stupid.

from http://www.gnxp.com/MT2/archives/002360.html, as reported in the Boston Globe:

To convert SAT scores from 1996 through this year to an IQ score, Professor Douglas Detterman of Case Western Reserve University provides this formula: (.095 X SAT Math) + (.003 X SAT Verbal) + 50.241 = IQ (small data sample in chart "c" below)

For SAT scores before 1996 -- before the "re-centering," which raised the average SAT back to 500 -- Detterman provides this formula: (.126 X SAT Combined Score) - (.0000471 X SAT Combined Score X SAT Combined Score) + 40.063 = IQ. (data in charts "a" and "b" below)

Using the second formula with President George W. Bush's 1206 combined SAT scores: (.126 X 1206) - (.0000471 X 1206 X1206) + 40.063 = 124 IQ for Bush

The same 124 number is obtained from an SAT - IQ conversion chart and is virtually the same as the 125 estimated by The Bell Curve author Murray for a 1206 combined SAT score.

I don't believe you can calculate current IQ from previous SAT scores. The whole points of IQ is based on age. I don't think there's anything conclusive one way or the other short of having the man take a test and publish results to satisfy the morbidly curious

Not to mention the fact that years of cocaine and alcohol abuse cause permanent brain damage. All of this came after the age of 17.

Read the following article

http://www.willthomas.net/911/Bush/

It is quite an interesting examination of Bush, and the mental stability of a "dry drunk".
