"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Mark Twain
Something tells me this series is going to suck the ol' Matrix fanatics back into ther detective gear.
Sayzak's first of many to come BOLD PREDICTIONS:
I think the experiments happening beneath the hatch are performed by people trying to create an alien, using random DNA possibly gathered from a meteor. They are going to make a human/alien hybrid, which is why the seem to be obsessed with stealing human babies. I'm guessing that the crazy french woman's baby is an unfortunate teenage alien/human mut, and that it will mysteriousely haunt our survivors toward the end of this season just as we start to figure out what the numbers mean.

Anyone else think "LOST" is an acronym for something else? Lost is such an obvious word that it makes me scratch my head. And what's lost? Obviousely they're physically lost, but maybe the title implies more than that. Lock's character makes me think that this show is a lot more faith based than it initially leads us to believe.

Maybe the aliens were lost. Maybe they accidently shipwrecked on Earth and THEY'RE just trying to find a way home. And they're stealing babies to raise them with an alien mentality, to use them as spies or security.

Or maybe it's the source, and all the people on the island are Neo's of their own respective versions of the Matrix. The architect decided to change his methods in trapping the human race, so rather than keep all of them in one matrix, they now each have their own. That's it. Those sneaky Wachowski's.
